How to Obtain Bangboo in Zenless Zone Zero

InZenless Zone Zero, most Bangboo can be acquired through the Bangboo Oriented Signal Search, a specific highly F2P friendly gacha banner dedicated to these companions. It will unlock as players progress through the tuturial chapter, though bit later than the other banners. To pull from this banner, players will need Boopons, a special currency that can be earned by completing missions, participating in events, and engaging in various modes within the Hollow Deep Dive Zone. Players cannot purchase Boopons with real-life currency, though the Battle Pass does include additional Boopons. The banner only features S, A and B rank Bangboo, and it’s not possible to obtain agents or W-engines from this banner.

Luckily, players can select the Bangboo they would like to get, and upon getting the S-rank signal, it will be their selected Bangboo as there is a 100% Guarentee for it. On the other hand there is no rate up for A-rank Bangboo.

How to Use Bangboo in Zenless Zone Zero

Bangboo are somewhat like the fourth team member in Zenless Zone Zero, even though players cannot control them directly except for activating them during certain chain attacks. Despite this, Bangboo will be present in combat as a separate ally-like entity, performing automated attacks based on its skill set. To assign a Bangboo to your party, players need to go to the team selection screen before combat and click the smaller round icon on the side. This will display all available Bangboo, allowing players to choose their preferred one based on the team’s needs or the upcoming combat scenario.

How to Upgrade Bangboo in Zenless Zone Zero

Like agents and W-engines, Bangboo can also be leveled up and upgraded further. To do so, players need to visit the Remodeling Shop on Sixth Street. Here, players can view all their available Bangboo (as well as those not yet obtained), their levels, core updates (copies), and their stats. By leveling up, players can upgrade general stats such as HP, ATK, and DEF for Bangboo. This process requires a specific EXP material called Bangboo Software Patch, which can typically be obtained in Hollow Zero. The higher rarity variant, Bangboo System Widget, can also be acquired from the Bangbuck Exchange in the shop, among many other purchasable items.

Core Updates, on the other hand, require players to have duplicates of the same Bangboo obtained through Gacha. These duplicates are used to upgrade the levels of Bangboo skills and their multipliers. In the beginning, players will have limited access to a variety of Bangboo and EXP materials. Therefore, it is recommended to focus on one or two Bangboo that best suit their teams' needs.
