Summary
This article contains spoilers forThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.It’s been a little while sinceThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomcame out, and players are still working their way through its enormous world. Compared to its predecessorBreath of the Wild, their shared Hyrule still feels fresh thanks to a breadth of new content, including sky islands and a whole underground map. While DLC is on many fans' minds, it’s not becauseTears of the Kingdomis lacking in things to do, but rather just because of the precedent set byBreath of the Wild’s own season pass.
Some of the high points inTears of the Kingdomcome when the open world is funneled into four dungeons themed around the elements of Hyrule’s tribes. While these feature nonlinear progression similar toBreath of the Wild’s Divine Beasts, they all have a bit more personality and even a dungeon item equivalent. Like The Champions' Ballad DLC before it,Tears of the Kingdom’s DLC could add another dungeon to this set, and its theme is already apparent.

Tears of the Kingdom Has Dungeons Devoted To Most Of Its Elements
WithinTears of the Kingdom, there are dungeons with various histories and unique names, but they are all united as being elementally themed temples. The Wind Temple is found by the Rito, the Fire Temple is by the Gorons, and so on. Each temple has a corresponding Sage, and there is a partial fifth temple devoted toMineru, the Sage of Spirit, consisting mostly of a lead-up in the sky and then in the Depths. One could consider the final dungeon to be Ganondorf’s own Darkness Temple and the collective Zonai Shrines as Rauru’s Light Temple.
However, that last one is a stretch. While there is a Temple of Time inTears of the Kingdom, it is situated on the Great Sky Island tutorial area, which in retrospect feels like a blown-out dungeon. Although the Zonai Shrines do give out Blessings of Light, they are not temples in truth. Therefore, a DLC could easily capitalize on this by adding a true Light Temple, perhaps in the golden area theLight Dragon enters as Link draws the Master Sword. An area even higher in the clouds would be fitting for a Zonai-themed temple.

A DLC Light Temple Suits Tears of the Kingdom Perfectly
This would be a fitting expansion toTears of the Kingdom, and one that would parallel the dungeon added inBreath of the Wild’s final DLC. While most ancientSheikah technology vanished inTears of the Kingdom, one notable reference to it exists in a new Yiga cave attached to the former Shrine of Resurrection. Clearing it offers the reward of a Zonai bike schematic, referencing the Master Cycle Zero, a Divine Beast Link got at the end of The Champions' Ballad.Tears of the Kingdom’s DLC ought to go one step further and parallel the structure of said DLC.
Rauru would take the place of Monk Maz Koshia, directing Link to new trials. In the end, Link would return to the Great Sky Island and be taken to a final dungeon. It would lean on his borrowed right arm from Rauru, but that would still be a fitting parallel to the fifth Divine Beast dungeon meant for Link himself. Rauru’s spirit could manifest as the boss, which would give more context to hisparticipation inTears of the Kingdom’s ending. Even thoughTears of the Kingdom’s DLC hasn’t been confirmed yet, a Zonai-centric Light Temple is the obvious place to go, and thanks to its novel theme could serve as a very memorableZeldadungeon.
