Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duelwas officially released on January 19, and while many expected the digital trading card game to be popular, few knew it would prove as successful as it has been.Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duelis one of the most popular games on Steam, peaking over 100,000 concurrent players every day. YetYu-Gi-Oh! Master Duelhasn’t even reached its full audience. Up until today,Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duelhasn’t been available on mobile devices. That’s now changed.
Konami announced on Wednesday thatYu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel’s mobile supporthad arrived and that the game was now available on both Android and iOS devices. There was no fanfare or celebration surrounding the announcement. Konami simply putYu-Gi-Oh! Master Duelout on both mobile platforms and then confirmed their availability on social media. It’ll be warmly welcomed by mobile gamers who don’t have access to a video game console or PC.

Mobile players ofYu-Gi-Oh! Master Duelwill join an already extremely active community of players once they download the game and start playing.Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duelis already available on PlayStation and Xbox consoles, as well as PC and Nintendo Switch.Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duelalso hascross-play and cross-progression, so those who started on other platforms can jump over to iOS and Android if that’s their preferred platform.
No reason was ever provided byKonamifor whyYu-Gi-Oh! Master Duelwas delayed on mobile devices. It’s possible that Konami believed it needed to space out the releases to ensure that its servers weren’t overwhelmed at launch. It’s also possible thatYu-Gi-Oh! Master Duelsimply needed additional optimization time on mobile devices, too. Whatever the reason, it’s taken Konami an additional couple of weeks to get the mobile port ready. It’s entirely free to play, so iOS and Android users can pick it up and play now.
SinceYu-Gi-Oh! Master Duelis a free-to-play game, which means it has anin-game premium currencycalled Gems that players can use for various purchases. Those wanting to get a Gem bonus to start off playing the game can follow the game’s official account on Twitter (@YGOMasterDuel) to receive 300 for free. The deal is available through February 6.
This is just the start ofKonami’s plans forYu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel. Now thatYu-Gi-Oh! Master Duelis available on all of its planned platforms, it can focus on updates and new content going forward. While no content plans have yet to be confirmed yet, expect more information onYu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel’s future in the weeks and months to come.
