After announcing the Xbox Series S yesterday, Microsoft followed that up by revealingthe release date and price for the Xbox Series X. In the wake of that announcement, several next-gen games have been confirmed as launch titles for the console, with the latest beingDirt 5.
Only a couple of days ago, developer Codemasters stated that it would bedelayingDirt 5past its intended October release into November, with the reason being so that the current-gen versions of the game would release in closer proximity to the planned next-gen releases.

WithDirt 5releasing on current consoles on November 6th, this means there’s only a four-day wait for the next-gen version. However, while fans may not need to wait as long, there are still reasons to get the Xbox One version first.
Firstly, some may be unable to afford the Xbox Series X at launch, or eventhe cheaper Xbox Series S, so if they’re eager to getDirt 5as soon as possible, they can buy the Xbox One version. Plus, doing so will entitle consumers to a free upgrade to the next-gen version if/once they’re able to afford it, thanks to the Smart Delivery option.
PlayStation 4 owners will be able to get a free upgrade to the PlayStation 5 version too, but with that console’s release date still a mystery, we don’t know whenDirt 5will release for it. With the PS5 believed to be launching in November as well, we can probably expectDirt 5to either be a launch title for it or to release shortly afterwards. Regardless of which version players may get,its Playgrounds modecertainly looks to be impressive.
In related news, Ubisoft has confirmed that two of its upcoming titles will launch alongside the Xbox Series X as well; namelyAssassin’s Creed ValhallaandWatch Dogs Legion.Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’sreleasehas actually been pushed up, as it was meant to launch a week afterwards.
We can probably expect to see more games be confirmed as Xbox Series X launch titles very soon, but now all eyes are on Sony and for it to announce the PS5’s price and release date.
Dirt 5will release for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on November 6th, followed by an Xbox Series X release on November 10th. A PlayStation 5 release will happen this year and it will come to Stadia in 2021.
