Gaming enthusiasts who were around when theXbox 360was at its prime likely remember their old GamerPic with nostalgic fondness. Unfortunately, those GamerPics lost their quality with the jump from the Xbox 360 to the Xbox One and have since stayed gone now that the Xbox Series X and S are here. Luckily, it seems like fans might be able to access those old pics once more sometime soon.
According to Xbox’s Engineering Lead Eden Marie, Alpha Skip Insiders are able toaccess their Xbox 360 era GamerPicson their current consoles just by navigating some menus and selecting the old picture. This feature isn’t available for everyone yet, but it seems like it should come with time as soon as Microsoft has worked out any issues that Alpha Skip Insiders might experience.

It’s important to note that Marie clarifies thatcurrent Xbox ownerswon’t have access to all of the old 360 GamerPics, just the ones that they had back in the day. This might be frustrating for anyone who lost an account or otherwise doesn’t have access to their original information as they won’t be able to their original picture. Those in that situation shouldn’t lose hope, however, as Microsoft seems determined to bring back some of its older features, and access to all GamerPics might be somewhere in the future.

It seems like right now, riding the nostalgia wave is a very delicate needle to thread, especially when dealing withthe current climate of remakes and remasters. Some go over well as many fans still look fondly on the days of Xbox 360-past, but others feel like they’re simply re-releasing old titles for a quick nostalgic cash grab. Either way, it seems like adding 360 era GamerPics will be a nice feature for anyone looking to reuse their old gaming looks, so hopefully, the feature revealed by Marie comes to all Xbox owners sometime soon.
