World of Warcraft: Dragonflightushers in a new era for talent systems in the game. This new system brings in a ton of great options for the Demonology Warlock’s talent builds. The developers over at Activision Blizzard have brought the gameback to its roots with actual talent trees. These news trees are a welcome change from the boring 3-choice tiers present in Shadowlands. These new talent trees bring customizability like we’ve never seen before, and so many great options that it is hard to determine a meta build.
What’s New in Talents for WoW: Dragonflight?
Players now have a choice of talents in two aspects of their character:Class and Specialization. As you level and gain your talent points, you now get two pools of talents to utilize. There is a class talent tree that focuses on buffs and changes the way you play your class, regardless of what specialization you may be in. The second is your specialization spec, where you can spend points specifically on the spec you have activated.
For Demonology warlocks, there are so many fun choices in the Demonology tree, its almost impossible to create the perfect spec. No matter what you do, you will feel left out of something neat. This is a GREAT problem to have, and all the more reason to try out many variations of the talents to see what jives with you.
As there isn’t much data yet on any meta builds or what exactly provides the most DPS out of all of the talent choices, we’ve put together a build that makes the most sense tomaximize your damage output and enjoy the gameplay style.

We’ll cover our choices of class talents in order of the row they appear in on the talent UI in game.
Row 1:
Demonic Circleis taken by default, andFel Dominationis chosen as it can get you out of a tight bind quickly if your main demon is needed quickly.Burning Rushis still nice to have if you’d rather the movement utility over Fel Domination.
Row 2:
Fel Pactis not chosen as you don’t often need to use Fel Domination and therefore the cooldown reduction is not as useful, andFiendish Strideis not taken as you didn’t take Burning Rush. Take the other two talents in the row for survivability.
Row 3:
All three talents are taken to unlock further talents required.Mortal Coilis chosen overHowl of Terroras it will also heal you.
Row 4:
We’ve chosen all of the talents here that help with survivability or damage output.BanishandAmplify Curseare left off as much less useful options.
Row 5:
There are many options in this row that are not very helpful for most scenarios, or offer minimal value. We takeDesperate Pactfor survivability and to unlockDark Pact, and we takeDemonic Gatewayas useful utility that unlocks the next row.
Row 6:
All three talents are taken, will choosingDark Accordto reduce the cooldown ofUnending Resolve. Don’t forget aboutShadowfury, the AoE stun.
Row 7:
Shadowflameoffers another utility slow with only a 15 second cooldown, andAccrued Vitalitywill help with survivability and unlock key talents in the next row.
Row 8:
All three talents are chosen here.Fel SynergyandSoul Linkare great for defense, andTeachings of the Black Harvestoffers multiple options on how to use it, and unlocks more talents on the right side.
Row 9:
This is where we have many options and not many points left. SelectDemonic Resilienceto give your primary demon more defences, andGrimoire of Synergyas it helps increase damage output.
Row 10:
We can fortunately take all three of the final talents here. ChooseInquisitor’s Gazeto follow you and add to your damage.
As mentioned earlier, there areso many FUN choicesin the Demonology Warlock’s talent tree in Dragonflight. We focus on big AoE damage with an army of demons. Here’s what we suggest to make the most of your demons and damage.

Call Dreadstalkersis the only option, it is taken.
Take all three talents.Demonboltis a core cast and also paves the way for Implosion later for big AoE damage.Dreadlashalso offers more AoE damage, andAnnihilan Trainingpowers up your Felguard while unlock further talents in lower rows.
We leaveSummon Vilefiend/Soul Strikein favor ofDemonic Strengthto help power up your Felguard, so we don’t leave single-target damage behind when we need it. Take the other two in this row to amplify your shadowflame damage and unlock more key talents.
You only have so many talent points to spend, and we are taking everything in this row exceptShadow’s Bite. We take the others so we can stack up as many demon-buffing talents as possible.
Inner DemonsandDemonic Callingare taken as they are valuable during all times of combat. You can also chooseGrimoire: Felguardif you decide to foregoFel Sunderin the next row.
We take three talents here all focusing on increased damage,Dread Calling,Demonic Meteor, andFel Sunder.
Imp Gang Bosspowers up your Wild Imp with a new proc chance, andRipped Through The Portalallows you to summon additional dreadstalkers as well.
We focus on the shorter cooldownSummon Demonic Tyrantrather thanNether Portalhere. This allows us to go further down the center tree in the next row. We also takeAntoran Armamentsfor a pure damage increase for your Felguard.
Continue along the path created in Row 8.Soulbound TyrantandInfernal Commandwill further empower your summons.
Grab the final two talents in both of the columns you have invested in. ChooseReign of Tyrannyto scale with your Wild Imps andGuillotineto further empower your Felguard.
The PvP Talents are usually a matter of choice for the player. Choose what you like in terms of play style, as it will not have bearing on your raiding DPS.
