Summary
The November Trading Post catalogue inWorld of Warcrafthas an item with striking similarities to aspects of Iridikron’s last monologue fromDragonflight. This has led players to wonder if the latest Trading Post offerings might be a hint as to the next expansion inWorld of Warcraft.
TheTrading Post is a feature added inDragonflightthat offers a monthly catalogue of rotating items purchased with Trader’s Tender, a special currency obtainable via certain cash shop purchases and in-game activities. Players who complete their tasks each month also earn a free bonus reward, usually in the form of a mount or transmog.

World of Warcraftrecently revealed November’s Trading Post Catalogue, and players couldn’t help but notice that Voidsong, Stave of the Harbinger, one of this month’s bonus reward transmogs, looked familiar. This stylish weapon features a deep purple crystal and an ominous, Old God-inspired design that reminded many players of the disc held by Iridikron during the Dawn of the Infinite megadungeon cutscene. Iridikron also made mention of the Harbinger during the cutscene, leading many players to wonder if this staff might be hinting at the Primal Incarnate’s inevitable return.
The scheming Primal Incarnate departed through a portal at the end of the cinematic, thoughkeen-eyedWorld of Warcraftplayers noticed an elf-shaped silhouettein the background. Many fans believe this figure to be Xal’atath, an enigmatic Void being who previously inhabited the eponymous knife, which bears resemblance to Voidsong, Staff of the Harbinger. Popular theories suggest Xal’atath herself could be the Harbinger Iridikron was referring to.
Luckily, players won’t have to wait long to find out if Voidsong, Stave of the Harbinger is a hint for the next expansion.World of Warcraftwill almost certainly reveal the new release at BlizzConon November 3. While Iridikron and the mysterious Harbinger may or may not be the focus of this expansion, it seems inevitable that the Primal Incarnate will make a return somewhere in the future.
