Besides the polarizing gameplay reveal ofHalo Infiniteand the return of theclassic RPGFable, perhaps the biggest reveal at the Xbox Games Showcase wasAvowed, the new first-person RPG from Obsidian Entertainment. While many are excited about the prospect of diving into this new RPG on the Xbox Series X, it has caused many to start wondering if the game will make its way to PC by way of Steam or some other PC games client.

Avowedmay not have a lot of details revealed thus far, but that doesn’t mean that players are completely in the dark. For one, the game will be set in Eora, which is the same setting as Obsidian’s classicPillars of Eternityfranchise. And from the quick glimpse shown in the Xbox Games Showcase, many are speculating that the game could besimilar in style and scope toSkyrim.

While it’s currently unknown as to whether or notAvowedwill be available anywhere besides Xbox consoles and the Microsoft Store, there is definitely precedent that suggests it will make some kind of appearance on Steam. Looking atObsidian Entertainment’s history, the studio has a documented pedigree of high performing and critically-acclaimed RPGs, all of which are available on Steam.

Recently, Xbox decided to increase the reach of its PC games beyond the Microsoft Store by making the games available to purchase on Steam as well. This means that players can find traditional Xbox console exclusive games on the Steam Store available to purchase, as well as wishlist upcoming games likeHalo Infinite. WhileAvowedmay not currently have a page on Steam for players to wishlist it, that may be due to the fact there isn’t a confirmed release date. Gamestop doesn’t even have a page for the game on its site yet.

Even ifAvoweddoesn’t make its way to Steam, that doesn’t mean the game has no future on PC. With Xbox’s Play Anywhere initiative, players have access to their first-party Xbox games anywhere, whether that is on console, PC, or mobile devices thanks to the upcomingProject xCloud. This means that the highly-anticipated RPG will at least be available on the Microsoft Store, considering that Obsidian Entertainment is owned by Xbox Game Studios. It seems that players will just have to wait for more details closer to launch as to whether or not the game will be available on other PC clients.

Avowedis currently in development for PC and Xbox Series X with no confirmed release date.
