For years now,Pokemon GOhas hosted special Community Day events that give players the chance to catch some of the franchise’s most popular Pokemon. These Community Day events drastically increase the odds of one getting their hands on a shiny, and so they’re always big with fans. Generally speaking, thePokemon GOCommunity Day events have stuck with Pokemon that were already available in the game, but the April 2022 Community Day is an exception to that rule.
On Saturday, April 23 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm local time,Pokemon GOplayerswill have the chance to participate in Stufful Community Day. This Community Day event will be like the others, with Stufful enjoying a vastly increased spawn rate and players able to take advantage of limited-time bonuses. Plus, anyone that manages to evolve Stufful into Bewear while the event is active will learn Charged Attack Drain Punch. Since there will be countless Stufful running around, it shouldn’t be hard at all forPokemon GOplayers to add multiple Bewears to their collection, even though it will reportedly cost 400 Stufful candy to do so.

What makes thePokemon GOApril 2022 Community Daya bigger deal than usual, though, is the fact that it marks the first time that Stufful has ever been available in the popular augmented reality mobile game. Instead of Niantic letting players catch a bunch of a Pokemon that they probably already have, this coming Community Day gives players the opportunity to add a brand-new Pokemon to their roster and better complete their Pokedex.
Not only are Stufful and Bewear showing up inPokemon GOfor the first time ever, but a new move is also making its debut in the game at the same time. As previously mentioned, anyPokemon GOplayers that manage to evolve their Stufful into Bewear while the Community Day is live (2:00 to 5:00pm local time on Saturday, April 23) will get Charged Attack Drain Punch. Charged Attack Drain Punch has 20 power duringPokemon GOTrainer Battles and boosts Bewear’s defense, while it has 50 power when battling inPokemon GOGymsand Raids.

Stufful and Bewear are coming toPokemon GOas part of the Season of Alola, which is ongoing until June. The Season of Alola celebrates the Generation 7PokemongamesPokemon Sun and Moon, with Niantic using the opportunity to introduce Gen 7 Pokemon toPokemon GO. It will be interesting to see if Niantic uses the May 2022 Community Day to do something similar with anotherGeneration 7 Pokemonthat has yet to make its debut, or if this Stufful situation is going to be a one-time thing.
ThePokemon GOApril 2022 Community Day is going to be a bigger deal than usual besides just the fact that it’s going to see the debut of Stufful, however. Unfortunately, Niantic has made the decision to reverse itsCOVD-19 changesforPokemon GOCommunity Days. In response to the pandemic, Niantic increasedPokemon GOCommunity Days from three hours to six, but the Stufful Community Day is going back to three hours.
For somePokemon GOfans this may be a frustrating change, though Niantic has provided a reason for it. Apparently, only a small percentage ofPokemon GOplayers played longer than three hours, and that by having a shorter Community Day window, it will have more players out and about at the same time. To help make up for it, Niantic is givingPokemon GOplayers some extra Community Day bonuses to look forward to while the event is live, including 3x catch XP, 2x catch candy, 2x chance to get Stufful XL candy, incense time increased to three hours, lure modulesduration increased to three hours, and more.
While Stufful Community Day is likely going to get the most attention fromPokemon GOplayers, it should be noted that there’s another Community Day event taking place in April. On Sunday, April 10 from 2:00pm to 5:00pm local time,Pokemon GOplayers can participate in theMudkip Community Day Classic. This event gives players the chance to catch fan favorite Pokemon Mudkip, with a greater chance at getting a shiny. There are various other Community Day benefits that will be live during the event as well, not to mention Special Research, though players will have to pay $1.00 to access it.
Between the Stufful Community Day and the Mudkip Community Day Classic, there should be plenty to keepPokemon GOfans busy throughout the month of April 2022. Of course, there are other events to look forward to besides the two Community Days, like theupcoming debut of legendary Pokemon Tapu Buluin legendary raids and newPokemon GOSpecial Research. It’s all leading up to an end-of-season Special Research event in June, soPokemon GOfans should stay tuned for more information.
