InHorizon Forbidden West, Aloy takes on the powerful Far Zeniths from outer space. Though she thwarts their plot, Earth isn’t safe just yet, as an evil AI called Nemesis is on its way to wipe out humankind. Aloy isn’t interested in giving up just yet, but she will need all the help she can get to confront this new threat.Horizon Forbidden West’s sequel will likely have Aloy leaning on the support of the various tribes she’s helped along the way, yet the Banuk tribe might be neglected.
Thoughthe Banuk tribehas its fair share of brave warriors, it is also very isolated and rarely entangles itself in matters beyond The Cut. Furthermore, the tribe is very far away from Aloy’s base. Hence, even if the tribe agrees to work with Aloy, they might not be willing to make the long journey to the Forbidden West.

The Banuk Tribe of The Cut
InHorizon Zero Dawn, players discover several tribes, each with unique cultures and histories. TheBanuk tribe is introduced inThe Frozen WildsDLC, which takes players to the snowy lands of The Cut. The environment is harsh, and the machines are vicious. Hence, the tribe has adopted a culture that values toughness and resilience. They constantly attempt to prove themselves, and some even welcome the Derangement, as it gives them more opportunities to demonstrate their strength.
The tribe is quite isolated due to its geographical region and culture. Although it is targeted during the terrible Red Raids enacted by the Carja Tribe, the harshness of The Cut protects the Banuk. With their strength and toughness, the Banuk would make for good partners for Aloy to have in her battle against Nemesis, but thenextHorizongamemay have a few problems with integrating the tribe into the battle.

Why the Banuk Tribe Could Be Sidelined in the Next Horizon Game
There are a few reasons why the Banuk tribe would be useful in the battle against Nemesis in thenextHorizongame. Their toughness makes them good warriors, which is exactly what Aloy needs. Furthermore, as she learns from CYAN, the Banuk are very intelligent and have an understanding of mathematics and geometry. This could make them pivotal in understanding Nemesis and the threat it brings. Despite this, it may be difficult to get the tribe involved in the imminent battle.
The biggest issue is with the Banuk tribe’s distance. The Cut is very far away from theForbidden West where Aloy has established the Base. This could make collaboration with the tribe very difficult. Hence, even if the tribe does partake in the battle, they may be relegated to protecting their own territory and perhaps a few neighboring regions. The Banuk tribe’s culture could also end up being an obstacle. Though the Banuk tribe is not hostile to outsiders, it is relatively isolationist. This could limit how much the tribe is willing to engage in Aloy’s plans, as the Banuk may very well choose to stick to themselves and face any challenges that come their way on their own.
Nemesis promises to be Aloy’s biggest challenge yet, and the continuation of the species depends on her success. She has many loyal friends on her side, though one cannot be certain that it will be enough to take down Nemesis. The Banuk tribe may play a role in the conflict, though it is likely to be a very limited one compared to other tribes.
