Persona 5: The Phantom X Global Release

Developed by Black Wings Game Studio with official authorization from Sega and Atlus,Persona 5: The Phantom Xis a mobile spin-off ofPersona 5that follows a similar gameplay loop with a new story. The game takes place in the same world asPersona 5with players able to visit familiar locations like Shibuya and Yongen-Jaya, but features a new protagonist and playable party members. So far,Persona 5: The Phantom Xhas only been available for beta test periods in China, but there is a possibility that it will see a global release announcement sometime in 2024.

The Rumored Persona “ASA” Game

Another spin-off game that is rumored to be in development is a newPersonagame code-named “ASA,” supposedly targeting a Q3 2024 release date.Persona ASAis said to be a party gamesimilar to something likeMario Partybut featuring a cast of characters from across thePersonaseries. It’s not clear what type of gameplay or mini-games this title would feature, but the inclusion of characters from the originalPersonaall the way up throughPersona 5makes it seem like a title designed to be a celebration of the franchise.

Persona 6 Might Finally Be Revealed

The question of whenPersona 6will be revealed is weighing on the minds of manyPersonafans, but the answer might be in 2024. Next year will make it eight years sincePersona 5first launched, meaning there is a better chance than ever thatPersona 6is on the horizon and an official reveal is imminent. With how popularPersona 5is, spawning multiple spin-offs and helping the series reach new audiences worldwide, there is a lot of pressure riding onPersona 6to deliver a worthy follow-up experience, so Atlus likely wants to take their time to get the game just right.

However, rumors point towardsPersona 6having an internal planned release window of 2025, so it’s likely that the game will be officially announced in 2024. The Summer Game Fest or other major presentations around that time make the most sense for a reveal of this size, andPersona 3 Reload’s announcement at the Xbox Games Showcase in Summer 2023 sets a precedent for the franchise appearing at these types of events. Atlus will have to balance itsPersonanews with its upcoming titleMetaphor: ReFantazio, which could complicate the timing ofPersona 6’s announcement.
