Attack on Titanis an anime where itty bitty humans get crushed by the weight of giant nude human toes on a regular basis. There’s no fate worse than that kind of death, except maybe being forgotten or shoved under a rug to make way for more important characters or perhaps due to time constraints. As it is, there are lots of characters inAttack on Titanand some of them feel like they have more stories to tell.

The tragedy here is that they never got the chance to provide even more exposition or supporting lore for other characters, especially with the breakneck pace of the series intent on reaching its ending. Somecharacters even look memorable or important enoughto the plot that a few more episodes of their existence wouldn’t have hurt. Too bad it’s too late for these guys as they’ve either joined Ymir in the paths or are too busy running away from Eren’s plans.
8Kenny Ackerman
Kenny Ackerman came as a surprise for fans who haven’t read the manga yet because even his introduction feels a bit rushed. It’s just Levi telling the legend ofKenny the Ripper. The reason why Kenny’saddition to the storyis a shocker is that he expands on the much-neededAckerman lore.
Turns out Mikasa wasn’t the only born and bred killer around Paradis. It was through Kenny that the viewers also learned that Levi is an Ackerman. While Kenny did have some fight scenes and a terrible reunion with Levi after that, hedied too abruptly, which is quite disappointing for a character that could hold too many secrets regarding the Ackermans. Mikasa didn’t even get to talk to him properly.

7Annie Leonhart
Annie was one important character who was very much active in the first season but somehow sidelined herself after that. She encased herself in an unbreakable crystal and remains there still at the time of writing. Shepractically disappeared from the storythat she might as well be dead. Reiner and Bertholdt didn’t even bother whisking her out as soon as Eren defeated her.

So for several seasons up to the current one, Annie is still shelved. Even during the first season, the series was a little conservative in showing a potential budding romance between Eren and Annie (which explains Mikasa’s vigilance).Spoiler alert:if the series follows the manga closely, then Annie might wake up soon enough but even then, her involvement is a little too inconsequential in Eren and Zeke’s grand scheme.
6Mike Zacharias
Mike or Miche in some translations was supposedly among the best inthe Survey Corps, second only to Levi when it comes to killing titans and general combat skill. That’s why it was a rather cruel fate for him to bekilled helplessly by a bunch of lowly titans. Granted, it was theBeast Titan who caused Mike’s death, but the viewers never really get to see him demonstrate his best abilities.
Thus, everyone’s memory of Mike is him getting knocked by a weaponized horse and his bright blond hair getting stuck between some ugly titan’s teeth. One would expect someone second only to Levi to at least have some kind of fighting chance or initiative against the Beast Titan, seeing as how the latter is no match against the short Ackerman.

5Dot Pyxis
The first time Dot Pyxis spoke to a crowd inAttack on Titan, it was glorious. Hemanaged to rouse up a defeatist brigade into willing combatants. That was before Erwin Smith even started giving better speeches to his own troops. It might even be possible that Erwin took inspiration from Commander Pyxis' pre-combat mannerisms.

Because as later seasons have revealed, the two Commanders got along well. Sadly, the Trost District reclamation was the last time viewers got to see Pyxis' thundering speech. Hisrole has been minimizedand he doesn’t seem to have the same effect as he did, which is a shame, as he probably could have swayed some Yeagerists by shouting some sense into them.
4Willy Tybur
A lot of viewers have probably forgotten about Willy Tybur. Eren ate him as soon as he declared war on Paradis on behalf of Marleyans and Eldians on Marley. However, Willy could have been someone more interesting given his family’s background. They’re thewealthiest and most influential out of all the Eldians.
Willy was the head of the Tybur family. One of the original Eldian noble families who betrayedKing Fritzand sided with Marley. His character could have been the key to some insightful flashbacks or a peek into the internal politics of Marley where the Tyburs were only masquerading as honorary Marleyans and were, in truth, the nation’s highest authority, practically turning Marley into a faux-Eldia.

3Lara Tybur
At the very least, one of the Tyburs had a chance to live longer than Willy who turned into a protein bar for the Attack Titan. That would be Lara and she’s the secret inheritor of the War Hammer Titan. It’s one of the most unique Shifter Titans in existence as its power is creative and productive in nature, despite the name.

The way Lara controlled the War Hammer Titan also makes her quite atactical geniusas instead of implanting herself into its nape, she separated and encased herself in crystal.Even Eren wasn’t that resourceful or creativewith the War Hammer Titan, as is evident in how bluntly he utilizes its powers in the latest episodes. To that end, Lara looks like a competent and fascinating character, especially for a Shifter Titan.
2Kiyomi Azumabito
It’s not just Kiyomi Azumabito who needs to appear more and explain more to the confused outcast Mikasa, but some of the power players of Hizuru as well.Little is known about Mikasa’s Hizuru heritage. It’s mostly her Ackerman side that was given the spotlight.
As it is, Mikasa is a viable contender for the Hizuru throne. However, Kiyomi ruined the introductions by being giddy about Paradis' special resource that would’ve made Hizuru rich. Even so, more exposure from this character and further exploration of Mikasa’s less bloodthirsty lineage would certainly be welcome.

1Dina Fritz
Speaking of lineages, Dina Fritz, Grisha Yeager’s first wife, could have had plenty of important things to share with Paradis. As expected from her surname alone, she’s a direct descendant of King Karl Fritz. That very well-meant Dina was a proper inheritor of the Founding Titan.
Apart from that, she also could have the same capabilities as Zeke, whose spinal fluid can force Eldians to transform into Titans at a royal’s will. Sadly,Dina was killed unceremoniously as a random titan, never to be seen again. So apart from Zeke, the only other source of royal spinal fluid would be Historia Reiss, and she doesn’t look like she cares much about Paradis these days.
