The following contains spoilers for Episode 6 of Tomodachi Game, “I Really Can’t Be Friends with a ‘Murderer,'” now streaming onCrunchyroll.

Episode 6 ofTomodachi Gamecontinues from where it previously left off: Mikasa is on his knees after getting exposed. Yuichi, who had appeared dumber than he was, explains that everything had been part of a plan. In fact, after Sawaragi and Mikasa’s former romantic relationship came to light, Sawaragi and Yuichi made a plan to work together in secret. Mikasa questions how this is even possible if they barely spoke during the second game. But Yuichi reveals that they were able to plan things out by using the bad-mouth cards and that he was giving instructions through this medium. During his turns to write bad-mouth cards, he would take an additional card to write instructions to Sawaragi and discreetly pass it to her. She would then read the next part of the plan when it was her turn to enter the bad-mouth room.

Mikasa asks Yuichi how he could trust Sawaragi if he didn’t know the traitor’sidentity. Yuichi tells him that he gave her a ‘test,’ a set of instructions on the first card that told her to use their secret to bad-mouth him (that Yuichi didn’t bathe for a whole week one time). With Sawaragi’s help, Yuichi narrowed down the culprit to Shibe, Mikasa, or Kokorogi.

Kokorogi and Shibe’s Involvement

The next person Yuichi approached was Kokorogi. By the fifth period, he slid Kokorogi a bad-mouth card, instructing her to bad-mouth Sawaragi in the next period while she continued ‘fighting’ with her. This secret was that Sawaragi wears men’s boxers. This left two suspects: Shibe and Mikasa. Yuichi’splan was so detailedthat he also controlled the group’s order entering the bad-mouth room. The third person Yuichi targeted was Shibe. The perfect time to determine his innocence was when Sawaragi landed on the ‘special chance’ space. Yuichi believes it was clear that Mikasa was guilty the moment Shibe volunteered. With all friends cleared of suspicion but one, Yuichi identified the traitor as Mikasa.

How Did Everything Work Out?

Additionally, it is revealed that Yuichi’s ‘failed’ plan for everyone to bad-mouth themselves was actually part of his overarching plan. This truly exhibitsYuichi’s underestimated intelligence. As Yuichi continues to explain his side of things, Mikasa questions why he didn’t expose him as the traitor as soon as he knew. Yuichi informs him that he didn’t want to present him with the opportunity to freak out and reveal more secrets, and thus, he waited to uncover the truth at the end of the game. Again, Mikasa asks him another question: how did his previous plan work if everyone could write as many cards as they wanted? It’s simple, according to Yuichi. Since anyone can write more than one card, Yuichi made sure to test his friends a second time by asking them to give himproof of their friendship. The proof? Their name tags.

It is then revealed that Shibe, Sawaragi, and Kokorogi have not been wearing their name tags. At one point, Yuichi handed Sawaragi his name tag to test out whether his debt would double. She returns it shortly after he realizes that the debt won’t double so long as the other person does not look at the number on the back. Furthermore, Mikasa asks Yuichi why he didn’t choose him when he was approaching his friends, one by one, to make them his allies. In response, Yuichi explains that he was suspicious of him because he wasn’t acting like himself during the game. This seems to be true because according to thefirst episode, Yuichi is shown to know his friends exceptionally well, maybe even more than they know themselves.

Despite the truth being revealed, the viewers are reminded that the game is not over yet. Sawaragi will still lose, seeing as she is on the last space. With this in mind, Yuichi whispers something to Manabu, who is quick to end the game and announce that Yuichi has reached the goal alone because he broke one of the game’s rules and told a lie. Things worsen when Yuichi admits to his friends thathe has killed three people. Interestingly enough, when Shibe, Sawaragi, and Kokorogi turn against him, Mikasa is quick to jump to his defense. The episode ends as Yuichi heads for the third game alone.

So, What Now?

It is a little surprising that Yuichi is so cunning, clever, and devious; the way he could lie so easily is chilling. Regardless, with the whole truth revealed in only episode 6, what is next forTomodachi Game? How is Yuichi going to fare in the next game alone? And the most important question of all: Who isYuichi Katagiri?
