Gun Media is implementing some changes to Grandpa inThe Texas Chain Saw Massacre, mainly involving his perks and how they will be activated throughout the match. For a long time, Gun Media has been working on a way to make Grandpa a bigger part ofThe Texas Chain Saw Massacre, so in order to accomplish this, the developer will be categorizing his perks under different levels.
Currently, Grandpa Abilities can be unlocked under the Family’s Skill Trees by spending the Skill Points acquired by leveling up. Grandpa Abilities are unique boosts obtained by Family that are triggered as Grandpa climbs from Level 1 to Level 5.Feeding Grandpa blood raises his leveland unlocks an ability, as chosen by each Family member as part of their loadout.
As part of a new update going live on July 16, Grandpa Abilities will now be divided into different levels. These levels will be directly linked to Grandpa’s Family Bond Level in order for it to be unlocked in-game. For example, a Level 1 Grandpa perk will only become available to Family once Grandpa is fed up to Level 1. Players should be aware that if Family only brings Level 3 Grandpa Perks, none of them will unlock until Grandpa reaches Level 3, at which point all perks will unlock simultaneously. Essentially, this means that Grandpa Abilities are more balanced. Two Level 1 perks and one Level 3 perk wouldn’t make Grandpa as powerful as three Level 3 perks, but they would unlock much faster. As always, all of Grandpa’s abilities will be temporarily suspendedwhen a Victim incapacitates him with a bone shard.
These changes will be rolled out duringThe Texas Chain Saw Massacre’s next update, which will drop on Tuesday, July 16th, 2024. Grandpa’s rework comes just a few weeks after the game’s last patch on June 25, which made Hitchhiker’s Claymore Outfit available for purchase through the in-game store. Additionally,the June 25 update made changesto the effectiveness of the lobby cooldown penalty, fixed Hands' Skill Tree, and touched up Maria’s model and hair texture.
On June 11,The Texas Chain Saw Massacremade Ana’s sister, Maria, a playable Victim, while freakishly largeHands was introduced as a new Family member. Fans are still hopeful that Robert Sawyer, also known as Chop Top fromThe Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, will make an appearance later down the line. For now, players can get a taste of how this new tiered system for Grandpa Abilities will factor into matches going forward.
