List of All New Features in TLOU 2 Remastered
The remaster ofThe Last of Us Part 2containssix new features: No Return Mode, Speedrun Mode, Guitar Free Play Mode, Lost Levels, Directorial Commentary, and New Skins (for characters and weapons).
No Return Mode
Introduced in the remaster ofThe Last of Us Part 2,No Return isa roguelike survival mode. It puts new and old characters in limited-time missions, urging them to fight hordes of the infected. The mode also featuresroguelike elements such as randomized encountersand rewards, as well as customizable specs.
Speedrun Mode
The Speedrun Mode isa leaderboard featureinTLOU Part 2 Remastered. With this option, players cantrack and share their speedrun recordsfor a chance to rank among the top players and earn rewards.
Guitar Free Play Mode
A new gameplay feature lets the remaster players freely use instruments like guitars. The mode also boasts various settingsinspired by the main storyand will include different characters. Additionally, players will be able to use FX pedals to modulate their performances, composing complex tracks.
Lost Levels
Threeadditional missions will be playableinthe Last of Us Part 2 Remastered. These “Lost Levels” are previously cut content that didn’t make it to the original game. However, the missions will remain in their pre-development stages, serving more as BTS content than actual gameplay expansions.
Outfits & Skins
A series of new character costumes and weapon camouflages are included in the remaster ofThe Last of Us Part 2. These include outfits for Ellie and Abby as well as their respective guns.
Director’s Commentary
A batch of fresh directorial commentary is incorporated intoTLOU 2 Remasteredfeaturing Neil Druckmann, narrative lead Halley Gross, and actors Troy Baker, Ashley Johnson, and Laura Bailey.
Graphics and Performance Enhancements
On top of all the new gameplay features, the remaster ofTLOU Part 2will also include native 4K, Unlocked Framerate option for TVs that support VRR, better texture resolution, increased Level-of-Detail distances, improved shadow quality, and animation sampling rate.
Will The W.L.F. Edition Contain Extra Content?
The Collector’s Edition ofThe Last of Us Part 2 Remasteredwon’t include extra playable expansions. However, it will indeed featuredigital freebies and BTS contentthat the Standard Edition lacks.
