The First Descendantis an amazing third-person shooter that players are able to play for free. It follows the story of the Descendants, humans that have inhuman abilities and are humanity’s last hope at ensuring that they survive.
Throughout the game, players can find a lot of interesting little things. From obtaining new emotes tounlocking Ultimate Descendants, there’s a lot that players can get into. One thing that players can find and open throughout the game is Encrypted Vaults, and here’s how to do just that.
What Are Encrypted Vaults In The First Descendant?
There are different types of Encrypted Vaults around the game’s world that can have a variety of rarity. Some of these Vaults may be easy to decrypt and obtain the items inside, and others may be difficult to open. Each variety of Vault has a normal and hard version, and each requires different materials in order to open it. The best way to obtain these materials is to just kill mobs and look for them while farming other things (such as while farming XP). Here’s a list of them all and what items unlock them:

Each area in the game offers set locations where these Vaultscanspawn, but they won’talwaysspawn, meaning that while there are set locations, they aren’t always set to be there. In order to find one, players need to look for the small blue-green holographic squares while walking around the game. Once found, they can bring up their scanners and scan for the Vaults. If the sound is a low-pitch noise (like normal scans), then the player is far away from the Vault. If the noise is a high-pitched tone, then they are getting closer to the Vault and are facing the correct direction.
If you’re having trouble, try looking on top of buildings or below objects, as the Vaults can be hidden a bit.
How To Open Encrypted Vaults In The First Descendant
As long as you have the correct item to open the Vault (shown in the table above), you can begin to decrypt it. to do this, interact with the Vault and perform the mini-game that appears. This will require you to complete some sort of quick-time event where you need to hit a certain button at a specific time. If done correctly, the Vault will open, and if done incorrectly, the item used to open the Vault will be used up.
