Summary
Fallout 4has been out for over eight years now, but that hasn’t stopped devoted players from building some of the most impressive settlements ever built in the game. Thanks to the continuous work ofFallout 4modders, players can create anything from a simple shack to an enormous city, and those who have a little more time on their hands than others have taken every inch and gone several miles.
Among some of thebestFallout 4settlement buildsare enormous cities, each defined by their meticulous detail and unprecedented size. However, some players have also gone to great lengths to improve upon some of the game’s pre-established settlements, effectively transforming them into awe-inspiring landmarks that can be seen from miles away.

Sanctuary City Revamped, Capital of the C.U.T. by The Gaming Vault
The Gaming Vault’s Sanctuary City Revamped, Capital of the C.U.T. settlement is by far one of the most impressiveFallout 4designs to date. Despite taking advantage of a massive library ofFallout 4mods, The Gaming Vault’s undeniable attention to detail and the sheer magnitude of this settlement are an extraordinary feat for anyone to accomplish. In fact, the settlement is so massive and detailed that The Gaming Vault’s video tour of it is nearly an hour long.
Sanctuary Hills Capital City by Orange Squeasy
Orange Squeasy’s Sanctuary Hills Capital City is renowned for more than its size and detail. What makes this settlement design so impressive is that it was built entirely without mods. As it turns out, Orange Squeasy figured out they could bypass the build limit by dropping weapons and storing them while in workshop mode. Doing so would drop the build meter in the same way that scrapping something would, thus allowing more room to continue building. The city itself is incredibly detailed, despite being fairly claustrophobic, and it is easily one of the best player-builtsettlements inFallout 4.
Settlement City by SirBalz
SirBalz has become a household name among theFallout 4community over the years for their dedicated work on some ofFallout 4’s most remarkable settlements, includinga settlement inspired byHarry Potter’s Diagon Alley. However, their Settlement City design is likely their most notable build, as it took them a year to finish. Despite lacking the detail that other player-builtFallout 4cities possess, it is still a monumental success for the creator, and its size alone is something to behold.
Pirate Island by SirBalz
Another ofSirBalz’s incredibleFallout 4settlement buildsis their Pirate Island settlement, which is exceptional for more than one reason. This massive, multi-tiered settlement is appropriately built in the middle of a body of water and includes a host of amenities for pirate lovers to enjoy, including a bar, a general store, a dining hall, and a coffee bar. The finest details of this settlement can be seen beyond the habitat itself, as pirate ships can be seen engaging in naval combat in the seas that surround it.
Castle by SirBalz
Once again, SirBalz impresses with one of theirFallout 4settlements in their makeover of the Castle. This one stands out among the rest, however, as what was once nothing more than the rundown and beat-up Fort Independence has been transformed into a towering fortress beyond its years. Despite its purpose in the game, the Castle has received a makeover with the help of SirBalz and now resembles something from the deranged world ofMad Max.
WithFallout 4’s upcoming next-gen updatearriving sometime in 2024, it’s likely theFalloutcommunity will see even more impressive designs from the game’s most dedicated players. While the update’s release date is currently unknown, it apparently doesn’t prevent those who already love the game from spending hundreds of hours creating incredible settlements for the world to gaze at in wonder.
