A new teaser forThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomhas been shared by Nintendo Japan, and it shows significant differences in the area where the seven Heroine Statues were inBreath of the Wild. Zelda lore runs especially deep, and nearly every corner of Hyrule has a story to tell and a mystery to unveil. SinceTearsof the Kingdomistaking place in the same Hyrule asBreath of the Wild, it is likely that it will uncover some of the secrets that fans and lore theorists are curious about, and it certainly comes up with a few more to keep everyone on the edge of their seat ready for more.
With less than a month to go until it’s released, Zelda fans couldn’t be more excited to be receiving a new entry to the series with thelaunch ofTears of the Kingdom. These next few weeks will be especially slow for those eager to get their hands on a copy of the game, so while waiting, many fans have resorted to watching the trailers and teasers over and over again.

Nintendo Japan recently uploaded three new teasers to promote the release ofTears of the Kingdom. These videos mostly contained footage already featured in the main trailers, but there were a few parts that had never been seen before. Fans were particularly curious about a shot of the Gerudo Desert, near the area where Link could find theseven Heroine Statues inBreath of the Wild. In this still, only four Heroine Statues seem to be at the location, and on top of that, there is also a sword in the center.
Back inBreath of the Wild, there were seven Heroine Statues in the East Gerudo Ruins, and an eighth statue that Link could find in the Gerudo Highlands. The eighth Heroine Statue was reported to only be a myth and not actually exist. InBreath of the Wild, the statue’s sword is also missing when Link finds it, and it can be retrieved in the southeastern area of Gerudo Summit. Perhaps the eighth Heroine Statue’s sword is connected to the sword seen in the new teaser forTears of the Kingdom.
For now, it is unknownwhenTears of the Kingdomtakes place; it could take place before or afterBreath of the Wild, or even go back and forth in time, but this detail could be a hint. On April 12, players will be able to ease their curiosity with the scheduled launch of the game.
