This will be the first traditional 2DMario Bros.game sinceNew Super Mario Bros. U, and it will also be the first time players get to visit the newly announced Flower Kingdom.

This new Nintendo Direct gives fans an exclusive look at everything they will need to know once the game releases in less than two months. Fans got to learn aboutSuper Mario Bros. Wonder’s new gameplay mechanicsand characters while also getting to see the Flower Kingdom, the new land that will serve as host to Mario and his friends on this latest adventure. Prince Florian, a small Wiggler-type creature, is seen welcoming Mario, Peach, and more to the Flower Kingdom. However, Bowser shows up, uses a new Wonder Flower item, and merges with Prince Florian’s castle. To save the day once again, Mario must traverse across the six distinct worlds that circle the central Petal Isles of the Flower Kingdom, making for a total of seven new worlds to explore. These new worlds include Pipe-Rock Plateau, Fluff-Puff Peaks, Shining Falls, and more.
Pipe-Rock Plateau is a land quite similar to many seen in the Mushroom Kingdom of previousSuper Mariogames. Fluff-Puff Peaks will take Mario to the clouds after jumping his way past the icy levels at the mountain’s base. Shining Falls and the Petal Isles feature water and swimming, while a dessert, forest, and magma world also await. Unique open areas can be freely walked about, and courses can even be done out of order. A unique Course Select option in the new menu will also allow players to access any course at any time, afeature that is brand new inSuper Mario Bros. Wonder.
With a number ofupcoming games for the Switchkeeping fans in an almost constant state of excitement, this latest Nintendo Direct has built up even more hype forSuper Mario Bros. Wonder. The game will be adding a massive amount of new content that has never been seen before in aMario Bros.game while also staying true to the familiar 2D side-scrolling gameplay. With only a couple of months remaining before its release,Super Mario Bros. Wonderis already looking to be a massive hit and refreshing addition to the beloved franchise.
