Super Mario Bros. Wonderplayers will be able to mute the talking flowers that they come across in the game. Nintendo recently showcased a 15-minuteSuper Mario Bros. Wonder-focused Nintendo Direct presentation that revealed all kinds of exciting new details about the upcoming 2D platformer game.

TheSuper Mario Bros. WonderNintendo Direct presentationhighlighted some of the new power-ups that players will be able to use on their journey. It also explained how the new game takes place in the Flower Kingdom, as opposed to the Mushroom Kingdom, and therefore has some unique enemy types and other characters for players to interact with. This includes talking flowers that players will be able to come across as they traverseSuper Mario Bros. Wonder’s various stages.

Thetalking flowers inSuper Mario Bros. Wondermake jokes and sometimes offer gameplay hints. Main seriesSuper Mariogames aren’t exactly known for their extensive voice acting, and so it’s safe to say that some fans may not care to listen to the flowers talk. Luckily, it’s been confirmed thatSuper Mariofans can simply mute the talking flowers through the game’s settings. They are also able to change the language that the talking flowers speak if they’d rather do that instead.

The talking flowers are just one of the new elements featured inSuper Mario Bros. Wonder. The recent Nintendo Direct shone a spotlight on all the new features that fans can look forward to in the game, with one of the most significant being the new Wonder Flowers. By collecting Wonder Flowers,Super Mario Bros. Wonderplayers can trigger Wonder Effects, which drastically change the level in various ways. Examples shown include bringing pipes to life andtransforming Mario into a goomba.

Completing a Wonder Flower section gets players a Wonder Seed, another new concept being introduced inSuper Mario Bros. Wonder. Wonder Seeds are necessary to unlock new courses in the game. They are collected by completing Wonder Flower sections, but also by getting to the end of other courses. Players should think of them as the Power Star-equivalent forSuper Mario Bros. Wonder.

It’s clear thatSuper Mario Bros. Wonderis making a lot of changesto the standard 2DSuper Marioformula, and it’s likely that it has even more secrets thatSuper Mariofans will have to discover for themselves by playing the game when it launches next month. Unless Nintendo drops more trailers in the interim that will offer more revelations about the game, of course.
