Summary

Terrormorphs are one of the toughest enemies thatStarfieldplayers can come across, which is precisely why one of them decided to build a terrormorph zoo in their outpost. Though there are many obviousparallels betweenFalloutandStarfield, terrormorphs are perhaps the most transparent attempt at channeling a bit ofFalloutmagic by making the Settled Systems' equivalent to the dreaded Deathclaw. Needless to say, Bethesda succeeded in the attempt, as terrormorphs are widely considered to be a highlight of the game, both for the role they play in its story, and for their methodical ferociousness in combat.

While terrormorphs are prominent in theUC Vanguard questline inStarfield, they can also be found randomly across the Settled Systems on select planets. Curiously, they can even be discovered on the surface of the tutorial moon of Kreet, with the heat leeches found at the Crimson Fleet base serving as foreshadowing. Unfortunately, they don’t play a role in the main story, which largely revolves around the Starborn and the search for the artifacts instead.

However, it would seem that Reddit user Rotteneverything found another role for the terrormorphs than what the game intended. They managed to build an outpost on Newton III, the infamousStarfieldplanet with invisible animals, and then proceeded to place two terrormorphs in an enclosed habitat. The resulting zoo is a concept both bizarre and amusing, though it relies on a bit of magic to work.

Given that terrormorphs aren’t native to Netwon III, and that there’s no way to reliably ferry animals across different planets, it’s most likely that Rotteneverything resorted to the use of console commands inStarfieldto spawn the pair of terrormorphs inside the habitat. Nonetheless, this shouldn’t be a slight on their creativity or effort, as the method in single-player games almost always justifies the outcome. Since there is a possibility that the terrormorphs despawn after leaving the planet for a while, using console commands is arguably the only way to pull off the concept.

While players have built all sorts ofimpressive outposts inStarfield, many agree that the feature could be greatly expanded on in the future. There is already a foundation for animal husbandry in-game, andStarfieldmods could easily take that concept further by allowing the creation of a menagerie. Thankfully, the latest Bethesda title already has a burgeoning modding community, and a proper “Terrormorph Park” could show up in the coming months.
