Selling illegal goods can netStarfieldplayers a ton of Credits in a small window of time. It’s a very profitable venture for would-be smugglers and space pirates, though actually getting any contraband to sell can be quite the problem.

Contraband is much rarer than the usual junk players can find inStarfield.Oftentimes, these are found aboard other criminal vessels and spacer haunts. Finding either of these two isn’t easy, but luckily, there’s one particular spot in the galaxy that players can use to effectively farm contraband, granted they have the patience to wait for weeks on end.
Where to Find Contraband in Starfield
TheAlmagestis a spacer-occupied casino orbiting theplanet Nesoiin theOlympus system, which is locatedeast of Alpha Centauri. Apart from having a ragtag group of bandits parading in its zero-gravity dens, it also has a chest that always contains a few pieces of contraband.
Dock onto the Almagest and head straight down the corridor. Enter the main game room to find a few hostile spacers — get rid of them, and then head left toward the giant, golden vault door. Underneath it is an open vent that leads to a contraband-filled chest and a computer that grants back-end access tothe Almagest’s prize jackpot.

The neat thing about the Almagest is that everything inside itrespawns after one in-game week(or possibly longer). Players can either wait in their undocked ship just outside the casino for 168 local hours, or they can continue exploring the rest of the Settled Systems and come back after a week. The Almagest should be once again full of spacers, and the contraband chest should have a new selection of goods inside.
There’s a good chance of finding a legendary spacer aboard the casino, and that translates to more loot and money for players. Waiting for the Almagest to reset can be a pain, however.
Players who want to engage in a more active style of contraband hunting can instead visit the UC mission board on Jemison (inside the Viewport bar) and take a couple ofCrimson Fleet ship bounties. Accepting these jobs guarantees that a hostile ship will spawn in whichever system the bounty indicates, giving the player a chance to board and loot some contraband from pirate vessels. Make sure to check the tables, shelves, captain’s storage container, and cargo holds of the pirate ships.
Assassination bounties against spacers and pirates may also lead players to outposts or stations that contain contraband, though this isn’t advised as sorting through the clutter takes too much time and effort.
