Rumors have been circulating about a remake ofStar Wars: Knights of the Old Republicfor some time now. While many fans are excitedly hoping forKnights of the Old Republicnews at this year’s E3, oneStar Warsfan is making some incredible animations based on the game in the meantime.
Knights of the Old Republicwas developed by BioWare and released in 2003. The game put players in the shoes of a new Jedi in a time period unseen during the movies, and featured the squad-based gameplay that BioWare is well known for. The game holds a special place in the hearts of manyStar Warsfans, so much so that there are manyaspects ofKnights of the Old Republicfans don’t want to see changedif a remake is real.

For those devoted fans ofKnights of the Old Republic, YouTube channel Unreal Cinema is dedicated to updates on a project creating a miniseries based onKnights of the Old Republic, all done completely in Unreal Engine. The channel posts new updates weekly and seems to be making a lot of very impressive progress. The clips show primarily small snippets of aspects that have already been developed, likeKnights of the Old Republic’s iconic villain Darth Revan.
The videos showcase a lot of very detailed recreations from the game. There is an entire video spotlighting a test flight ofKnights of the Old Republic’s Ebon Hawk ship. The video even includes a quick look at the Ebon Hawk in combat, complete with some explosions that look like they come straight out of the movies.
Another video uploaded by Unreal Cinema gives a detailed walkthrough of the project’s recreation of one ofKnights of the Old Republic’s most recognizable locations, the Endar Spire. The video showcases a lot of detail, and it is pretty incredible to see the location look so sleek and modern with Unreal Engine rendering.
While the remake has yet to be confirmed, fans have been very excited brainstorming just how aKnights of the Old Republicremake could transform the series. At least while fans wait for a potential announcement, Unreal Cinema has something to offer. Hopefully, with the coming summer of games industry conferences and events, fans will not have long to wait for an official announcement of a potential remake.
