With the game’s first Big Run event over, fans ofSplatoon 3are speculating what multiplayer map may be next for a salmonoid takeover. During the initial run, Wahoo World was closed down due to the salmonoid invasion. Any number of stages could get turned into a salmon purging zone during the next event, especially considering many of the current multiplayer stages available inSplatoon 3exist near some kind of shoreline.

It’s likely the next Big Run stage will be a place near some kind of body of water given the salmonoids travel through the water to get from place to place. However, as seen in theWahoo World Big Run, salmonoids can pop out from even the sewers. Anywhere could be targeted as a result, but there are some key contenders based on what players have seen around Big Run so far.

Hagglefish Market

One of the first contenders fans should consider for their next salmonoid smack down is Hagglefish Market. This market area exists right next to a coastline, which makes it pretty perfect for ahigh tide bearing loads of salmonoids. Because the stage is so narrow compared to other locations, it may be more of a challenge for Nintendo to create a stage that’s acceptable for Salmon Run’s needs. However, every Salmon Run shift is a challenge, and Big Run has proven to be an extension of that, so there’s a good chanceSplatoon 3will continue amping up its difficulty.

Undertow Spillway

Another contender for the next Big Run is Undertow Spillway. This stage is unique because it’s located on the bridge of an old dockyard, likely one that’s theremains of a location used by humanslong ago. The dockyard is perfect for Big Run because not only is it a wide and large stage, but it’s also located close to the sea where salmonoids can come right in for the attack.

Aesthetically, the Undertow also shares some similarities with Grizzco sites already used for Salmon Run matches: rusty platforms, beat-up buildings, and murky waters. Add some salmonoids to the mix and the stage already looks like a hot zone for Big Run activity. Fans are on the lookout for more hints as to where this next Big Run event might take place, anddevelopers teased Big Run back inSplatoon 2, so it’s possible the coordinated aesthetics point to something.

Brinewater Springs

A third stage that might be a potential contender for Big Run is Brinewater Springs. It’s close to the water, making it a prime location for potential salmonoid attacks. In addition to its overall location, it also is a very wide stage, which can allow it to be split in half by incoming tides. This would make for a unique Big Run stage, one different from options like Undertow Spillway and Hagglefish Market.

Additionally, the stage is a public sauna, which would add even more areas on the map that could unexpectedly throw out salmonid at the opposing team. If Big Run does take place in Brinewater Springs next time, it’s sure to be a challenging one, and this would also be a great opportunity for Nintendo to advertisebrand-new content introduced throughSplatoon 3’s Chill Season.
