In the upcoming horror filmThe Invitation, Evie (Nathalie Emmanuel) is mourning the loss of her mother and after taking a DNA test, she finds out that she has a cousin who she wasn’t aware of. When Evie is asked to join her cousin at a wedding in England, she agrees, but the family has some secrets that she will soon learn about.
As Evie says in the trailer, “It was always just my mom and me. To have a family, that’s what I really want.” When Evie has dinner with her cousin Oliver (Hugh Skinner), she shares that her mom was always interested in bringing her to England so she could feel connected to her roots. Later on, once Evie has realized that she’s in a terrifying situation, she says, “I want to go home.”
