This gameplay was provided by GPF on YouTube, who had managed to get footage fromSonic Frontiers' demo at EGX. This compilation of clips shows off a few new things, such as aboss battle forSonic Frontiers. This boss was shown off briefly back in June, where this video reveals its name to be known as Squid. Players can find it wandering the area, where they can then jump on the giant strip of road that floats behind it to start the battle. From there, players have to avoid its fireballs while running, before using a homing attack to stun it and fight it head on.
Cutscenes of the game were also showcased, with Sonic encountering Sage and the giant Titan enemy that as been present in many of the trailers. As seen in theTGS trailer that revealed Super Sonic, the blue blur is no match for it in his current state and is thrown into a mountain for his troubles. Shortly after Sage leaves, Sonic wakes up in a panic, noting that he’ll need the power of the seven Chaos Emeralds if he wants to take on the colossal foe.
The final cutscene of note involvesAmy and her role inFrontiers, where according to the video description, occurs after the Titan is first encountered. Amy sends Sonic on a side-quest, where he plays a quick mini-game in collecting the Kocos. After that is done, Sonic will do a very fun and animated dance sequence and be awarded with a green Chaos Emerald, with Amy asking him to find more of the scatteed Kocos. Fans immediately latched onto the dance scene, praising how lively and animated Sonic looks while doing it.
Sonic Frontierswill launch on November 8 for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
