Of all the gaming franchises that deserved to make a comeback, many would argueCrash Bandicootwas at the top of the list. Now, with the release ofCrash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time, the future ofCrash Bandicootis looking bright. However, for some users there have been difficulties in terms of upgradingCrash Bandicoot 4to the PS5.
As more and more players begin to transition from the PS4 to the PS5, many have begun to take advantage of the free upgrade that comes included for PlayStation users with certain titles. The official Twitter page forActivisionSupport tweeted out that it was actively investigating reports ofCrash Bandicoot 4not upgrading from PS4 to PS5 for some users. While this issue may not be widespread for all users, it can certainly be irksome for those who wish to experience the game on their next-console generation.
In any case, hopefully Activision will be able to rectify issues that players have been having when trying to upgradeCrash Bandicoot 4to the PS5. It’s possible that thenew features forCrash Bandicoot 4found on PS5could be attributed to the issues players have been having, considering the content is different to what’s featured in the base PS4 version.
It’s somewhat strange that there haven’t been any notable reports of users running into similar issues with different games. Why this is happening now, after the console has been out for several months, is curious. Of course, not every game has received a PS5 upgrade, with titles likeBloodborneandDeath Strandingstill missing PS5 upgradesalongside other PlayStation-exclusive games released during the last-console generation era.
In terms ofCrash Bandicoot, it will be interesting to see what the future holds. Given the success of theN. Sane Trilogy, which led to an official fourth installment decades after the release ofCrash Bandicoot 3, it seems that the demand and love for the series has been revitalized. With any luck, this should lead to more entries in the series and potentially new series revivals, such as the recentSpyro the Dragonremaster.
