Tons ofThe Elder Scrollsfans have experienced the world ofSkyrimsince its initial 2011 release and subsequent ports on most modern consoles, while the PC has remained the main modding hub for the game. OneSkyrimfan decided to take inspiration from the long-running title’sThieves Guildto create aSkyrim-themed Xbox 360 controller.

Reddit user PlatyMcNum recently posted multiple images of theirSkyrimThieves Guild-inspired Xbox 360 controller that they created for a friend who is a fan ofThe Elder Scrolls. The controller looks as if it’s made of an aged brown leathery fabric that’s stitched together painstakingly, while the photos show different angles that highlight the painted design on the Xbox 360 gamepad. The D-pad, triggers, bumpers, start, and back button of this Xbox 360 controller are all notably a light shade of brown, which effectively contrasts the darker browns that comprise most of the customSkyrimgamepad.

DedicatedSkyrimfans who have experienced the Thieves Guild content will notice a small detail on the back of PlatyMcNum’s custom controller, as at the bottom of the battery pack is the Danger Shadowmark. InSkyrim, theseShadowmark symbolsare used to tell other thieves about a potential risk, and it’s one of nine they use to communicate. PlatyMcNum has confirmed that their friend still has the controller on display and now playsSkyrimon Xbox One, but it’s currently unclear ifThe Elder Scrollsfan intends to create a customSkyrimXbox One controller or if they will skip over a generation to the Xbox Series X/S one.

Taking things a big step further, PlatyMcNum has also handcrafted a case for theXbox 360 controllerwhich is packed full of goodies thatSkyrimfans may recognize. There are many shiny large coins that are meant to represent the gold Septim coins ofSkyrim, and they’re surrounded by colored translucent gems meant to reflect Amethyst, Diamond, Emerald, and Garnet, which are all things Thieves Guild members will be familiar with. Everything is contained in this box which latches shut and features art inspired byThe Elder Scrollstitle on it.

The aged brown leather look of PlatyMcNum’sSkyrimXbox 360 controller may be inspired by the Thieves Guild armor, which can be acquired through completing quests for the Thieves Guild in Skyrim. The questline is even more lucrative than providing a set of armor asSkyrimplayers can make tons of gold, access more vendors, progress through stealth-centered skill trees, and ultimately attain the covetedSkeleton Key. OnceSkyrimThieves Guild members achieve this tool, they are able to unlock any chest like the one reflected by PlatyMcNum’s custom case or door that doesn’t require a key without the use of a lockpick.

Skyrimis available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
