Bethesda Softworks brought fishing toThe Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimwith the release of the game’s Special Edition, and since then many fans of the RPG have been catching their own meat. OneSkyrimplayer recently spent 12 hours fishing in the game before they choose to drop their fishing rod alongside all the fish they had acquired back in the water.

Reddit user Sickliff recently posted a clip of their leisurely activity as they unload their inventory afterfishing inSkyrimfor what they claim was 12 hours. Because they spent so long fishing, the amount of fish they unload in their video causes some frame dips as the game tries to figure out what the player is doing. The clip shows what seems to be over a hundred fish being thrown back into the ocean as the player swims with the inanimate creatures that are normally seen swimming around when aSkyrimplayer takes a dip in rivers, lakes, and the ocean to the North.

Sickliff’sSkyrimclip begins with the player going through their inventory to focus on their Fishing Rod before dropping it in the water they’re floating in. Because this part of the ocean is enclosed as part of a hatchery, thefish and Fishing Rodfloat outward from the land until they get caught in a net that ropes off a large chunk of the ocean. Sickliff then swims up to the netting to show the massive amount of fish from above and below the water line for comparison.

Fishing was an often requestedSkyrimfeature before it was officially added as there were plenty of fish for players to catch with their bare hands. Cooking has been a staple inSkyrimsince its launch and like with other games that feature both skills such asWorld of WarcraftandMinecraft, fishing ended up complimenting cooking as players can cook the fish they catch. Although Sickliff could’ve created a ton of seared fish steaks with their 12 hours of fishing, the player opted to clump them together in a hatchery to access as needed.

Upon being asked where they caught so many fish, Sickliff stated that they used a hatchery near Windstad Manor, but did some hopping around to catch as many as they did.Skyrimplayers who build their own homes near water will also be able to create their own hatcheries, and it requires various building materials like other amenities introduced with theHearthfireDLC. Sickliff has confirmed that all the fish released in their video were caught during a 12-hour fishing livestream they did around the launch ofSkyrim Anniversary Edition.
