The bow has been one of the most popular weapons inSkyrimsince the game was first released over ten years ago, thanks in no small part to the safety of being able to stealthily attack from long distances. As a result, many players tend to test the bow’s limits by pulling off some of the mostimpressive long-distance shotsSkyrimwill allow against enemies that can’t even detect the source of the arrows after being hit.
However, while some players are able to pull off impressive shots from a massive distance, the killcam that often accompanies the final hit in an encounter inSkyrimcan cause its own issues. This is what happened to Reddit user huyria, who had an unfortunate string of killcams emphasize a series of long-ranged misses in a row, though they may not have been as inaccurate as they initially appeared.

In the short clip shared on theSkyrimsubreddit, the player attempts to shoot a bandit from a huge distance, only for the killcam to follow the arrow until it crashes into the ground. To make matters worse, each shot seems to be close enough to trigger the killcam, forcing the player to wait a few seconds between each miss just to watch the arrows strike at the bandit’s feet. The result is a series ofridiculous killcams inSkyrimthat add insult to a lack of causing injury as each shot focuses in on the repeated misses.
While the sight of these missed killcams already appears unfortunate, this might actually be a result of a glitch that has persisted withSkyrim’s bowssince release. According to some comments, the issue could be caused by the killcam starting because the game had calculated the arrow to hit, but then changing the flight speed and angle of the attack and causing it to miss. Additionally, there have been issues with the AI of enemies activating during killcams that allow them to dodge arrows from a distance while the cinematic is active.
Whether this series of misses are caused by a glitch in the killcam or not, the view is still plenty insulting, leading the player to literally throw themselves off a cliff in frustration. However, for anyone using versions ofSkyrimthat have mod access, like the anniversary and special editions or anything on PC, some players have made their own fixes for the AI dodge and arrow position glitches. So, anyone running into this same issue might want to check and see if they can mod these impressive longshots to work better with killcams, instead of getting these insulting slow-mo misses.
