Summary
Sand Landis an adaptation of an Akira Toriyama manga of the same name. Unlike theDragon Ballseries,Sand Landhad a much shorter story, giving the folks at Bandai Namco more room to expand upon. Like many Bandai Namco games, theSand Landvideo game is an action RPG.
Players can fight enemies, gain EXP, and then level up. This will grant players skill points for the main character, Beelzebub, and his allies to spend on skill trees. There are quite a few to choose from, but prioritizing these eight will makeSand Landa better experience. It can be a grind to get skill points, but it will be worth the effort.
8Brace For Attack

Inaction RPGs, one of the most devastating things that can happen in battle is getting knocked down. This can leave players vulnerable to attacks and the same is true in Sand Land. Brace For Attack is a skill for Beelzebub that will allow players to recover quickly when getting knocked down. There’s a similar skill, Aerial Evasion, which allows players to dodge while jumping. This is a good skill too but Brace For Attack is the one to prioritize.
7Max HP Boost 1
A Healthy Demon Is A Wise Demon
Max HP Boost 1 will increase Beelzebub’s health. It’s a simple stat-boosting skill that is not exciting on paper, but it is important. As the title may imply, there are other HP notches in Beelzebub’s skill tree, but they are harder to get to. It’s a good idea to keep health up in RPGs to not get that dreaded Game Over screen upon death. For HP recovery, Sand Land uses water, which can be replenished at certain stations, similar to howEstus Flasks work inDark Souls.
6Max Power of Darkness Boost 1
Increase The Special Meter
Players will use weak and strong attacks with Beelzebub for the most part in battle. The more players attack, the more their Darkness meter will rise. Once it is full, players can unleash an attack called Rush, and more like it will unlock later in the game.
It is kind of similar to howLimit Breaks work in the revampedFinal Fantasy 7games. Max Power Of Darkness Boost 1 will increase how large the meter gets, allowing Beelzebub to use Rush and other specials longer. Using specials in normal combat isn’t necessary but they are for boss battles or bigger encounters like bounties.
5Enhance Powerful Attack
A Stronger Attack For A Stronger Demon
The Powerful Attack button is matched to the Circle button for PS5 players. Players can mash it to punch enemies by itself, or they can combo it with weak attacks using the Square button. Players can also hold the Circle button down for a charged punch. Enhance Powerful Attack is a skill for Beelzebub that will naturally strengthen all Circle-based attacks. It’s a must, especially for players who like to perform combos in their action games akin to theDevil May Cryseries.
4Spoils Of War
Increase Item Drops
Spoils of War is a skill that Thief can get in the allies category of the skill tree. This will increase the chances of enemies dropping items when defeated. There are not that many consumables in the game that enemies can drop, but there are a lot of different parts used for upgrades.Vehicles play a big part inSand Landfrom tanks to mechs, and players can start to strengthen them once they get to Spino. With Thief’s passive skill unlocked, it will be easier to upgrade these vehicles faster, thanks to the enemy drops.
3Zeni Ahoy
Increase Money Drops
Zeni Ahoy is another skill for Thief that will affect enemy drops in battle but it instead focuses on money.Zeni is the money inSand Landwhich is close to what Capcom calls their money in a lot of their games, Zenny.
Besides materials, players need Zeni to make those aforementioned vehicle upgrades. And as typical in most games, money will make life easier for players. From buying new gear to buying tank parts, Zeni is a great thing to have an abundance of inSand Land.
2Boom Box
Dropping Bombs In Battle
Thief’s previous skills are all passive, but Boom Box is an active one. In battle, players can tap the R1 button to activate Beelzebub’s abilities, or they can tap L1 to use abilities from the other party members. Players can assign abilities like Boom Box to this wheel and once used, they will regenerate after a cooldown period. The setup is similar to other action RPGs with abilities and cooldowns, such as theMass Effectseries. As the name may imply, Boom Box is a bomb-based attack that will attract enemies toward it before exploding.
1Tonfa Attack

Tonfa Attack is a skill for Rao, who mostly has offensive skills in battle. This one, for example, will have Rao rush in with his police baton if Beelzebub gets overwhelmed by enemies. When exploring the desert, sometimes it can be easy to get surprise attacks from all over. Some enemies, like scorpions, can hide underground and pop up when least expected, for example. Rao may just be a humble human police officer and not a powerful demon like Beelzebub, but he can still help in dire straits.
