For the time being, theXbox Series Xconsole’s launch remains on schedule for release during 2020’s holiday season. The Xbox team has officially revealed the console and details about its hardware specifications and is now saying it plans to discuss games from here on out. Xbox fans are getting antsy, speculating about what kind of games Xbox Game Studios has in the works forXbox Series X, so when Wushu Studios communications guy and industry insider Shinobi602 drops a hint, it’s worth listening to.
Asked whether he can drop a hint in ResetEra’sXbox Game Studios' speculation thread, Shinobi602 starts off coy. He says, “It’s not my place to give details, and my username would be plastered on sites come morning if I did lol. So I won’t.” Hopefully, he understands his name popping up here. Then Shinobi602 starts to relax a little bit, saying, “But you won’t have to wait too much longer, really,” hinting that announcements are perhaps coming sooner than expected.

Here’s where Shinobi602’s comment gets really interesting, where it’s certain to drive some speculation. “Gorgeous fantasy worlds, reboots, big sci-fi… Should be a lot of fun,” Shinobi602 writes, providing the hint that he at first worked not to say. Nothing more specific is said, soXbox fanswill have to use their imaginations.
Perhaps incorrectly, Xbox fans are speculating that Shinobi could be referring to three big launch titles for the Xbox Series X. Ideas for the what the “gorgeous fantasy worlds” could include has varied from a rumoredFablegame andObsidian’s next big RPGto many other titles. What reboot Shinobi602 is referring to is a mystery, thoughFablewould likely count. And the “big sci-fi” is believed to beHalo Infinite, though Xbox fans would certainly love if it referred to something else, too.
Overall, Shinobi602’s hint doesn’t provide any firm details for fans to draw any reliable conclusions from, but it does help build even more hype for the Xbox Series X, though. Big sci-fi and fantasy games are the bread and butter of console launches. It’s exciting to consider what Xbox Game Studios might have put together over the past several years with the Xbox Series X console launch in mind.Halo Infiniteis likely just the start of what Xbox is working on for the next generation.
