SomePokemon Scarlet and Violetleaks do seem to be based on somewhat reliable information, whereas others are likely to be completely fabricated. Fans should treat every leak with a grain of salt and come to their own conclusions as to whether or not they can be trusted.
The latestPokemon Scarlet and Violetrumorcomes from YouTuber SwitchForce, who relays a bold “leak” about the number of Pokemon that will be featured in the new games. According to SwitchForce’s info, the number of new Pokemon introduced to the franchise inPokemon Scarlet and Violetcould be on the level of Generations 1, 3, and 5, with potentially over 130 new Pokemon in the games. SwitchForce describes it as a “massive, massive expansion of the already massive roster.”

Besides brand-new Pokemon that could debut inPokemon Scarlet and Violet, it’s also expected that there will be some regional variants as well. Ever since Generation 7, Nintendo and Game Freak have remixed older Pokemon with new looks and typings, and if the leaks are to be believed, that will be returning inPokemon Scarlet and Violet. Some potentialPokemon Scarlet and Violetregional variantshave been mentioned in other leaks, but fans should definitely keep their expectations in check until there are some official reveals.
As it stands, there are only three new Pokemon revealed forPokemon Scarlet and Violetin an official capacity. There will certainly be more new Pokemon joining the starters, but it remains to be seen if there will really be over 130 as this latest rumor claims.
