Images reportedly from theJet Set Radioremake have been shared on Twitter by userMSKAZZY69, who claims that their source is Midori. The post includes four screenshots allegedly from the development version of the game, including a map and several gameplay images. In a follow-up post, MSKAZZY69 explains that the game is “a complete remake of the original, totally separate from the new one” and that it will be an “open world remake.” Thisechoes previous statements from Midoristating that theJet Set Radioremake will feature graffiti, shooting gameplay, and an open world concept that will allow players to explore new areas and a new story.
Jet Set Radio Footage Allegedly Leaks Online
Although the screenshots are credited to Midori, the Sega leaker has recently deleted their social media presence, so it’s unclear how authentic the screenshots are. In addition to the leaked images, a video was also released featuring alleged gameplay onYouTube. The video features a similar art style and graphics compared to the screenshots, which feature updated and more realistic character and setting designs, despite being uploaded to different platforms by different users. The video footage shows various potential scenes of gameplay, including main character Beat painting graffiti, performing several skate tricks, and exploring several areas of the game’s Tokyo setting. Despite the release of these images, the release of theSega remake is still a few years away, with fans expected to wait until 2026 at the earliest.
It’s impossible to know if the footage of theJet Set Radiois real, but it has served the purpose of exciting players about the revival plans at Sega. Remakes of several other classic hit games are also reportedly in the works, includingAlex Kidd, House of the Dead,and several others. While Sega clearly appears to be going all-in on reviving nostalgic titles, it hasn’t yet released any other official information or game footage and until then, any other updates or reports from Midori or other sources should be taken with a grain of salt.
