A new rumor claimsGenshin Impactwill be adding a pair of character skins to the game, featuring some of the first characters ever released. Since the launch of HoYoverse’s massively popular action-RPG in late 2020, the game’s roster has continued to grow to a staggering 65 characters currently available with new members frequently added. The game has also featured multiple new skins for several of its characters, featuring unique outfit designs andsome skins even having new effects. Now, two more Mondstadt characters are rumored to be receiving their first skins.Genshin Impacthas released eight different skins since it first debuted Barbara and Jean’s summer attire back in Version 1.5. Each new skin addition toGenshin Impacthas come as a pair with one for purchase in the in-game store and one for free by playing through a limited-time event. Skin sets have also featured one character who is more readily available as part of each pair with Barbara, Collei, Ningguang, and Lisa available through events or as a starter character. Klee’s new skin features the Pyro Catalyst user donning a witch’s outfit, with Klee featuring prominently in both Version 1.8 and 2.8’s events. Kaeya will become the second of the four starter characters to receive a skin with an outfit appearing to beinspired by his roots in Khaenri’ah. Version 3.8 is expected to launch sometime in the summer, likely July based on the game’s six-week patch cycles.
The update from Ray also gave some details about the main event for Version 3.8. Version 3.8 is expected to feature an island-themed event similar to previous visits to the Golden Apple Archipelago, with Klee likely playing a main role. Ray revealed a quartet of Mondstadt characters will be starring in the event with Eula, Amber, Klee, and Kaeya reportedly appearing.Genshin Impact’spast Golden Apple Archipelago eventshave all featured new skins for characters involved with the event’s story.
Leaks of Kaeya and Klee’s skins are the newest in a batch of updates about the summer patch with plenty more coming toGenshin Impact. Recent leaks have teased anew Inazuma character releasing in Version 3.8, reportedly a female Electro user. Version 3.8 is also expected to beGenshin Impact’s last update before the introduction of the game’s next major region of Fontaine. Between new characters, new areas, and potential new skins, HoYoverse is looking to close outGenshin Impact’s Sumeru chapter with a bang.
