Summary
ManyRobloxfans have recently taken to social media to criticize the game’s latest event. Called The Hunt: First Edition, the newRobloxhappening has so far attracted criticism for everything from its steep progression curve to rewards, among other things.
Following a number of hyped developer teasers, some fans had been expecting thatMarch 15 was going to be a big day forRoblox. That’s in no small part because of the widespread theories that Roblox Corporation is bringing back the Egg Hunt, a popular annual event featuring opportunities to grab many exceedingly rare items, which has been replaced by Metaverse Champions in 2021.

Roblox Fans Disillusioned With The Hunt’s Content and Rewards
While the game did end up introducing a conceptually similar event in the form of The Hunt: First Edition, the promo has so far predominantly attracted backlash from theRobloxplayerswho were invested enough to share their thoughts on it online. Specifically, many fans have criticized the event’s lackluster selection of rewards, especially relative to the requirements for unlocking them. Having to collect 95 badges for just a handful of rewards has been labeled as one of the steepest progression curvesRobloxhas ever done by some players.
Given that state of affairs, a vocal section of the fandom is now asserting that the developers have no respect for their time, arguing that grinding has nothing to do with whytens of millions of people keep returning toRobloxon a regular basis. Meanwhile, others have taken aim at the actual games featured in The Hunt: First Edition, stating that the event would have been much more palatable if it at least included popular and highly replayable experiences such as Tower of Hell and Flee the Facility.
Aside from its rewards and time-consuming progression curve, some fans have also lambasted The Hunt: First Edition’s limited-time item sales. A lot of the ongoing barrage of criticism is aimed at the Vault Swordpack, which just reached the in-game shop with a 36,000 Robux price tag. Even using the most generousRobux exchange ratethat is only applicable to the $199.99 pack containing 22,500 Robux, the price of this back accessory still comes out to nearly $320.
The Korblox Deathwalker avatar that debuted on the first day of the event has received similar fan criticism for its 29,000 Robux price tag, which is the equivalent of $257 for those who buy the in-game currency in $200 increments. Roblox Corporation is unlikely to chime in on any of the ongoing backlash, as it’s not in the habit of highlighting any negative fan sentiments about its hit game by responding to player criticism.
