Since the company earned an array of Game of the Year awards and other accolades for its work onControl,Remedy Entertainmenthas been hard at work developing several new AAA projects. From cooperative shooterVanguardto a rumored follow-up to its cult-classic action-horror gameAlan Wake,the company seemingly has its hands full developing new experiences for PC and next-generation platforms.
Today, the studio released a Q1 2020 business review, detailing the status of its current projects as well as some financial statistics. The report goes over some interesting new updates for multiple highly-anticipated games, including the reveal thatCrossfireX’ssingle-player campaignis nearing completion.

The action-packed first-person shooter’s development was split into two halves, withRemedy Entertainmentdeveloping the single-player portion and South Korean developer Smilegate working on the free-to-play multiplayer portion. Speaking on the game, Remedy claimed itsCrossfireteam is “finalizing the single-player operations” onCrossfireXas well asCrossfireHD,which will be a remaster of the first game in the series.
The report also touches on its collaboration with Epic Games. According to the studio, “Remedy’s AAA game project with Epic Games is soon moving into full production,” confirming that the title will be a focus for the team going forward. Similarly, it references the second, smaller-scale project also being worked on in collaboration with Epic, which Remedy has confirmed will be set in the same universe. According to the report, the mysterious game is currently in “full production mode.” Recent reports claimone of these projects will be a follow-up toAlan Wake, although nothing has been officially confirmed just yet.
Finally, the team went on to talk aboutVanguard,which will be a co-op experience. According to the studio, “Development progresses at a good pace,” with internal playtesting currently underway and closed external gameplay testing coming next. It seems things are going well for the title, which will aim to revolutionize the co-op genre.
Other small details shared throughout the report claim that almost everyone working onControlhas now moved on to new games, including a mysterious “early-phase project.” Remedy is clearly cooking up several significant experiences at the moment, getting ready to build on the success ofControland release some equally ambitious titles.For those who haven’t been keeping up with the company,Remedy had a record-breaking year throughout 2020despite not releasing a new game. It’s clearRemedy Entertainmentis more popular than ever, and with so many projects in the works, it seems it’s more than ready to capitalize on that success.
