Red Dead Redemption 2released almost three years ago, but that has not stopped fans from finding new glitches and details about the game. The sizable open world inRed Dead Redemption 2contains hundreds of hours of content, where many details may be hidden for players to find. A detail that has been found lately is not necessarily hidden, though players must make a distinct choice in what they wear, and when, in order to experience it.
Fans have been able to discover newdetails and dialogue inRed Dead Redemption 2that players may have overlooked or not experienced before. Recently, Reddit user RagingTop discovered yet another detail aboutRed Dead Redemption 2that may be easy for players to miss. In a short clip, RagingTop demonstrates that a unique conversation may occur between the game’s protagonist, Arthur Morgan, and other characters if a simple in-game choice is made with an article of clothing.

The user demonstrates that unique dialogue is heard if players enter the quick-wheel and mask themselves during a particular mission with Rains Fall. Equipping the face mask appears to alert Rains Fall, who has dialogue that responds to the player masking themselves. It is unclear whether the player was experimenting with the face mask theory, or if they simply wanted to disguise Morgan for an upcoming encounter. Interestingly, Morgan’s explanation for the face mask is that people are searching for him, which is an explicit response relating to the face mask.
This suggests that Rockstar Games was considerate ofeach detail inRed Dead Redemption2, down to the player’s seemingly insignificant choices. It would be an interesting experiment for fans to now test this detail upon other characters and conversations. It may be in players' interests to adorn the face mask for particularly hostile encounters. But that may not be the case for meetings with amicable characters, who may then find Morgan wearing a mask to be odd.
Other fans have taken interest in the Reddit thread, sharing their experiences withsimilar instances inRed Dead Redemption 2. User KingOverHeaven claims that other characters will also remark upon Morgan’s size and health if there is a drastic change in his weight. These instances are further proof that the developers took extra care with how individual NPCs may respond to changes that the player makes.
Red Dead Redemption 2continues to surprise fanswho have played the game since its release with lesser known details and interactions that are found throughout. Wearing a face mask to incite unique dialogue will likely not be the last impressive detail fans find.
