Operation Shadow Legacy is bringing brand new weapon scopes to the game, a reworked ping system, a complete rework of the Chalet map, and much more.

Rainbow Six Siegehas been getting patched and updated a lot lately, withthe futuristic MUTE Protocol eventstill going on. The MUTE Protocol event kicks off Season 2 of the game’s Year 5 content, and it put a new and interesting spin on the game’s Secure Area mode. Now, Ubisoft has released a trailer detailing all the changes and new content coming in the next major update toRainbow Six Siege.
As mentioned above, the Operation Shadow Legacy update is adding the iconic Sam Fisher ofSplinter Cellfame to theSiegeas a playable operator. However, the update will be adding a ton of new features toSiegeand quality of life changes, similar to therecent match cancellation featureadded at the end of June. First, many of the game’s weapons are getting brand new scope options with new zoom levels, new sights, and an overhaul regarding which operators can use which scopes and sights.
Next, the snowy Chalet map is getting a complete reworking that changes aspects of the map’s layout and aesthetic design. The game’s ping system is also getting overhauled through the Ping 2.0 system, which gives players unique ping markers, contextual information, and the ability to ping from drones. The Ping 2.0 system is sure to make many ofthe best proRainbow Six Siegeteams, or even just hardcore competitive players, very happy.Siegeis also changing how reinforcement tools work, giving teams a shared pool of 10 tools that any player can use.
Finally, other weapons and tools are coming to the game like a secondary breaching weapon for attackers and a rework for the EMP grenade. A new match replay feature is entering an Alpha test phase so players can watch past matches. Finally, a map ban or vetoing system is coming to ranked and unranked modes to make map selection a bit less random. While most of theseRainbow Six Siegefeatures were leakedonline earlier this year, there is still plenty of new and unexpected changes coming to the game with the Operation Shadow Legacy update.
