In 1994, Samuel L. Jackson and Uma Thurman starred in Quentin Tarantino’sPulp Fiction. The film would follow a number of characters including two hitmen, their boss, and his wife. After reuniting at this year’sAcademy Awards, Jackson and Thurman will share the screen in an upcoming crime thriller from Yale Productions.
At the 94thAcademy Awardsceremony, Jackson, Thurman, and John Travolta reunited on stage after they attended theevent forPulp Fiction27 years prior, in order to present the award for Best Actor. The trio didn’t do so without several references to the iconic film including delivering a few of their lines, dancing, and teasing one of the biggest mysteries of what was in the briefcase that so many people were desperate to get.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Thurman and Jackson are now set to star inThe Kill Room,from Yale Productions.The Kill Roomis described as a “darkly comic crime thriller” that will follow a hitman, his boss (played by Jackson), and an art dealer (played by Thurman). They will find themselvestangled in a money-laundering schemethat results in the killer becoming an art sensation overnight. With this newfound fame, the assassin will have to juggle the art and crime worlds to satisfy everyone involved.
The Kill Roomwill hail from Yale Productions, which has produced a range of dramas, thrillers, and comedies. Jordan Yale Levine, Jordan Beckerman, and Jon Keeyes will serve as producers on the film under the banner of Yale Productions. Beckerman and Levine insisted that they are certain the film’s director will “deliver a special film” that “strikes the perfect balance between dark humor and edge-of-your-seat thrills.“The Kill Roomwill be directed by Nicol Paone, who directed the 2020 comedyFriendsgivingthatstarred Kat Dennings, Margaret Cho, Wanda Sykes, Chelsea Peretti, Jane Seymour, Aisha Tyler, Jack Donnelly, Deon Cole, Malin Akerman, and several others. In speaking aboutThe Kill Room, Paone has described the script as “incredible” and said that making the film with Thurman and Jackson is, “beyond my wildest dreams.”
Neither Thurman nor Jackson is unaccustomed to starring in a film about the crime world. InPulp Fiction, Jackson played Jules, one of the hitmen who are employed by Marsellus Wallace. Julesworks alongside Travolta’s Vincentas they carry out Marsellus' orders and try and keep the briefcase and all other aspects of his life intact. Vincent is given the task of escorting Marsellus' wife Mia (Thurman) for a night out that nearly results in her death. Aside fromPulp Fiction, Thurman also starred as the lead in Tarantino’sKill Bill.
Both Jackson and Thurman earned Academy Award nominations for theirroles inPulp Fictionin the categories for Best Supporting Actor and Actress. Of the 7 nominations the film received,Pulp Fictionmanaged to take home the award for Best Screenplay. With Thurman and Jackson’s experience in the world of comedic, crime-oriented films,The Kill Roomwill become a welcome addition to everyone’s watch list.
