Next-gen consoles, especially thePS5, have been incredibly hard to acquire, as a console shortage and scalpers have made the shopping process difficult for PlayStation fans. While the next-gen console shortage continues, major online UK retailer GAME is looking to get more PS5 consoles into the hands of gamers.

According to a report by Express, GAME is set onrestocking its supply of PS5 consoles, and gamers will have the ability to buy them very soon. Based on the tweets of the PS5 Stock Alert UK Twitter account, GAME may restock its Disc and Digital Edition PS5s as well as console bundles from the 8 to the 10 of February between 9AM and 11:30AM GMT. While GAME may stock the PS5 consoles on those days, the retailer is also expected to open up orders that same day. PS5 Stock Alert UK also suggested earlier on January 27 that the release date for these PS5s will be on February 18.
The PS5 has a noteworthy line-up of exclusive games in development, such asGod of War RagnarokandHorizon Forbidden West.However, because of the current shortage of next-gen consoles, some development studios have decided to spend resources to make cross-generational titles. Not only will the newGod of WarandHorizongames be on PS4 as well, but Polyphony is releasingGran Turismo 7on both the PS4 and PS5. In fact, because of the prolonged shortages,Sony recently began producing more PS4 consoles. Given that the PS4’s processor is simpler and cheaper to manufacturer than the more robust PS5 chip, Sony is able to try and satisfy customer needs by delivering more PS4s.
As long as the PS5 shortage continues, the PS4 will be sticking around as an alternative for Sony customers. While the PS4 is among one of the best-selling consoles of all time, the hardware is now starting to show its age, and the quality of those cross-generation titles will inevitably be affected as a result of its limitations.
While many gamers continue to struggle to get a hold of aPS5, the news of a restock will please those looking to place an order. No one knows how many consoles GAME will have in stock, and whatever stock the retailer will have will more than likely vanish in a matter of seconds. However, some lucky gamers who are able to secure the hardware will get to enjoythe power that the PlayStation 5 offers.
