Baldur’s Gate 3is one of the most detailed experiences there is, full stop. It’s the rare type of game that delivers on the frankly ridiculous promise of “if you can imagine it, you can do it,” fulfilling an imaginably tough task of keeping story and gameplay continuity straight and somehow making it look easy.

Which is why it’s hard to understand why Larian didn’t charge a premium for it. There is just so much story content, so many voice acting credits, and so much fun to be had in its varied side-quests that, at the standard $70 that this gen has established, gamers can only thank their deity of choice for such bountiful splendor.

JRPGs are known for being meaty, but the base version ofPersona 5pushes the limits. The expanded version of the game,Persona 5 Royal, completely disregards those limits and adds hours of new content for players to dive into.

The game spoils the player for choice with its large cast of companion characters, romancing options, and nearly 200 personas to use in battle. But they’re all so appealing that multiple playthroughs of this massive game are hard to pass up. That makes the purchase of this game a no-brainer, especially when it’s on sale (which is pretty often).

Where the MCU has found success in developing convoluted comic book stories into fairly easy-to-digest media,Midnight Sunsleans into the lore that it draws its characters from. This game tries to fit decades of Marvel history into a reasonably priced video game and actually does an incredible job at it.

As such, this game is long, featuring a ton of fan-favorite characters, like Iron Man and Spider-Man, to intimately get to know and head into turn-based strategic battles with. Unfortunately, it’s that fairly niche genreMidnight Sunsfinds itself in that has played a part in some steep price drops for physical copies. This is a shame because the moment-to-moment gameplay is nothing short of awesome.

Like any Souls game, players ofElden Ringwill, no doubt, spend hours and hours working their way through boss after boss. However, the bulk of playtime will be spent simply roaming the massive worldof The Lands Between, finding dungeon entrances, completing side quests, and uncovering secret after secret.

This game reached an incredible fever pitch of popularity, which is nothing short of incredible for the type of game that it is. It just goes to show how far cohesive game design, gameplay, and storytelling can take players of any skill level.

GTA 5is certainly not strapped for content, featuring an open-world sandbox, a long, gripping campaign, and a little thing calledGTA Online. Of course, this is news to nobody since the game has been available for over a decade.

Over the years, the game has dropped considerably in price but has only gained value with things like PC mods and custom game modes. However, it’s truly Rockstar’s continued support and fans' willingness to stick around for multiple console generations that have helped to proveGTA5’s longevity.
