Project Zomboid’s Moodlesare the primary indicator of a survivor’s health and status, and range from the mundane Hungry to the terminal Dead. One of the Moodles that players might dismiss at first is Queasy, which is represented by a green, ill-looking face. Queasy is the first and least harmful of the Sick category of Moodles, which continues into Nauseous, Sick, and Fever. In order to cure the Queasy Moodle, players will first need to have a good idea of where it came from.
What Causes the Queasy Moodle in Project Zomboid
There are many hazards inthe zombie apocalypse, and the Queasy Moodle can have several causes, some benign, some fatal. The most common cause of Queasy inProject Zomboidis through eating bad or raw food. However, it’s also possible to become sick after spending too long around rotting corpses. The more corpses there are, the more chance a survivor has of becoming ill. Smoking can also cause the Queasy Moodle, but only if the survivor isn’t already a smoker.
Finally, Queasy can be an early sign that the player has been infected by the Knox Virus, and will soon turn into a zombie.Project Zomboid’s zombie plague is irreversible, so Queasy survivors who have recently receiveda bite or lacerationmay only have a few hours to live.
How to Cure Queasy in Project Zomboid
Players who think they’ve identified the cause of their Queasy Moodle inProject Zomboidcan then attempt to cure it. For food poisoning and illness caused by corpse decay, this can be as simple as remaining well-fed and rested. In the case of food poisoning, survivors who’ve managed to find Lemongrass while scavenging inProject Zomboid’s townscan eat it to speed up the process.
There are a fewProject ZomboidTraitsthat affect illness, with Iron Gut both reducing the chance of food sickness by half and allowing survivors to recover faster. Conversely, the Weak Stomach Trait will double the odds of getting food poisoning and slow recovery. Unfortunately, for survivors who have gained the Queasy Moodle by being infected with the Knox Virus, there is no way of curing the illness.
