The Pokemon Company revealedPokemon Scarlet and Violetback in February during Pokemon Day, and ever since, many fans have been keeping an eye on the upcoming Gen 9 games to discover more about them. Three official trailers have been released so far, but most of the major news bits come from the numerous leaks that started surfacing on the Internet. As such, there are only a handful of Pokemon that have been officially revealed, and the result might be thatGame Freak is underserving somePokemon Scarlet and Violetfanswho like to build their teams beforehand.
However, many of the Gen 9 leaks that are circulating online are about new Pokemon available inPokemon Scarlet and Violet, such as a Legendary quartet and the various Paradox Pokemon – Pokemon that are actually ancient or future forms of existing pocket monsters. A known Pokemon leaker by the name of Riddler Khu shared new information today about what to expect from thesize of the Pokedex inPokemon Scarlet and Violet, stating that there are 45 evolution lines exclusive to Paldea, and that doesn’t count extra forms.

Khu also mentioned that there is going to be a salt Pokemon, something that they had already hinted at a few weeks ago with a riddle that only read “CuSO 4,” which became apparent to be the compound formula for copper sulfate, a crystal-like blue salt. Based on Khu’s tweets from today, this salt Pokemon fromPokemon Scarlet and Violetcould have something to do withMinecraft, as that’s the other hint that the leaker shared over Twitter.
Because one of the distinctive traits ofMinecraftas a video game is its cubic aesthetic, it’s possible that this alleged salt Pokemon will be a block pocket monster that’s more pixelated than regular Pokemon designs. There’s a chance that the salt Pokemon inPokemon Scarlet and Violetwill be based onrareMinecraftitems, such as the Nether Star, but it’s also worth mentioning that the leaker may not be aMinecraftplayer and only used it for its immediate reference, thus the aesthetics.
Recently, Khu also talked aboutPokemon Scarlet and Violet’s Paradox Pokemon and Fuecoco’s evolution, which was described as quadrupedal, although Khu is now claiming that it could turn bipedal on some occasions. Whether these leaks will prove to be correct remains to be seen, but given Khu’s proven track record, it’s very likely that future trailers will indeed prove them right.
PokemonScarlet and Violetrelease on July 16, 2025 for the Nintendo Switch.
