Nature Mints are a fairly new item to thePokemonfranchise, making their debut in Generation 8’sPokemon SwordandPokemon Shield. They appear again inBrilliant Diamond/Shining Pearlas well asLegends: Arceus. Therefore, it may not have been too surprising forPokemonfans to see Nature Mints make a return inPokemon ScarletandPokemon Violet.
Just as their name indicates, Nature Mints will change a Pokemon’s Nature. For those that don’t know, Natures increase the growth of a Pokemon’s base stat (barring HP) while decreasing another stat (again: barring HP). IfPokemon Scarlet & Pokemon Violettrainers get a Pokemon with a Nature that isn’t compatible with their base stats, then they may want to consider giving their Pokemon a sprig of Mint.

Types of Mints & Where to Find Them
There are21 Nature Mints, and each one corresponds to one of the many Natures that Pokemon can have. For the most part,Scarlet/Violetplayers can pick up Mints lying on the ground all over Paldea. Look ingrassy areasor inforests. However, there may also be mints inthe fields outside Cortondo.
Mints that are picked up in the overworld will have “sparkle” like any other random item. They’re alsorandom, so if players are looking for a specific Mint, they’ll have to leave it to chance. Alternatively, players can make some progress in the Victory Road storyline.
Once players get6 gym badges, they’ll unlock Mints at theChansey Supplystore. There are a total offour Chansey Suppliesin all of Paldea. Here’s where they’re located:
All Mints that can bepurchasedcost20,000 poke dollars. Thus,Scarlet/Violetplayers will want to make sure they’re collecting and selling plenty of treasureor equipping the Amulet Cointo double prize money from other trainers/gym leaders.
Here’s a list of each Mint and what they do inScarlet/Violet:

*Serious Mints will neither increase nor decrease a Pokemon’s stat growth. The Serious Mint serves as an umbrella for the “neutral” Natures, i.e., Quirky, Hardy, Bashful, or Docile.
Keep in mind that Mints will change the stat growth of a Pokemon, but theNature listed on their Summary pagewill still be the same. This means that Pokemon like Toxel, which evolve into different forms depending on their Nature, will still evolve intoAmped Toxtricity or Lowkey Toxtricitydepending on its original Nature.
Nature Mints are best used on level 1 Pokemon that aregoing to be EV Trained. This will give them the boost they need for their ideal stat. A Pokemon can take a Nature Mint atanylevel, so it’s ultimately up to the trainer what they decide to do.
