Although they should only be taken at face value, there have been a ton of rumors and leaks regardingPokemon Scarlet and Violet. Game Freak and the other companies involved have been incredibly quiet, with many fans leaning on unofficial information for even an inkling as to what the next-gen includes. SomePokemon Scarlet and Violetrumors and leakshave been more trustworthy than others, but it’s ultimately hard to tell.
For example, there are tons of new Pokemon designs rumored, like a new Dolphin Pokemon, a fire/grass type, and so on. There are also rumors about new regional variants and cross-gen evolutions like a new Primeape. One of those is a new variant/cross-gen evolution for a new Wooper form inPokemon Scarlet and Violet.

One fan, based on this, has designed their own take on a regional evolution for Wooper. Twitter user King_Joseff shared their take online, and it’s an interesting form for the Pokemon too. UnlikeQuagsire, this evolution retains more of the axolotl features seen in Wooper but expands on the size of its external gills and flourishes. Axolotls undergo a specific type of evolution where they remain more aquatic than other salamander species, and that sort of approach shines through here too.
King Joseff posted two different color variations of these evolutions, one which is dark blue and purple and the other which is dull blue and pink. Although this could be a change due to one being aShiny Pokemon, it would also make for interesting gender differences akin to Gastrodon. Ultimately, it remains to be seen how close this design gets to the rumoredPokemon Scarlet and Violetevolution, if it does exist.
Including its initial reveal,Pokemon Scarlet and Violethave only received two trailers. This has confirmed a ton of 8 Pokemon, including the region’s starters, and a handful of features like its nonlinear design, four-player co-op, and general themes. It would stand to reason more is shown off ahead of their release in November, but it’s been bare bones lately. Indeed, it’s understandable why many have turned to rumors and leaks, but fans should be sure to take everything out there with a grain of salt out there until otherwise confirmed.
