APokemon Scarlet and Violetfan has created a Paldean regional form for Golurk, a Pokemon that was first introduced inPokemon Black and Whiteand has been featured in some subsequent releases since. There have been many generations ofPokemonso far and each of them has its fans, with this fan choosing Gen 5 as their template for aPokemon Scarlet and Violetregional variant.
Reddit user AnglerDish has designed their version of a Paldean Golurk which swaps its thick blue rocky build for long and lanky arms that resemble windmill rotor blades. WithPokemon Scarlet and Violetset to release next month,Pokemonfans continue to celebrate reveals like Iono’s Bellibolt or imagine potential Paldean forms to existing Pokemon, like the one from AnglerDish. Golurk became one of the go-to competitivePokemon of Gen 5due to its dual Ground and Ghost-typing, strong attack stats, and attacks like Iron Fist, and has since been a request in other games among a portion of the community.

AnglerDish’sPokemon Scarlet and Violetfan art shows thePokemontrainer of Gen 9 riding on theScarletbox Legendary Koraidonas the two approach the Golurk regional variant. This Paldean Golurk created by AnglerDish is black and light brown with white bricks for legs, all of which are matched in the color scheme of nearby windmills in the fan art. Unlike the standard Golurk, AnglerDish’s regional variant fan art forPokemon Scarlet and Violethas four arms and is much taller as it stands in an open meadow alongside windmills to blend in with the background of the image.
Although the design for the original Golurk has a panel on its chest that’s slanted diagonally and an asymmetrical shape atop its head, AnglerDish’s regional form for the Gen 5 Pokemon straightens both out to be more symmetrical. While windmills in Holland have a softer design and the ones in the US are sleek and more metallic, restored windmills from the Mediterranean, which inspired the Paldea region ofPokemon Scarlet and Violet, appear almost exactly as they do in AnglerDish’s fan art.Pokemon Scarlet and Violethave been confirmed to haveregional variants for current Pokemonlike Tauros and Wooper, but it remains to be seen if Gen 9 will have its own version of Golurk in order to accurately reflect the landscape.
Though AnglerDish’s Paldean Golurk is clearly designed like a Spanish windmill, they have yet to clarify if it would generate electricity by picking up wind with its arms, potentially replacing thePokemon’s Ground-typing, which is often its weakness. SomePokemon Scarlet and Violetfans have celebrated AnglerDish’s Paldean Golurk, and others compared it to the Iron Giant fromMultiVersus.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violetwill release for Nintendo Switch on November 18.
