3D printing is a technology that more and more people are gaining access to, making recreating favorite video game items and characters a popular hobby. Fans of thePokemonseries aren’t left out of this, as recreations of some of the most iconic creatures from the franchise are now getting the3D printedsculpture treatment.

One suchPokemoncreation was recently shared on social media, bringing a Bellsprout to life in the form of a 3D sculpture. The creation is receiving praise, and with good reason, as it’s a surprisingly faithful and charming reproduction.

Bellsprouthas been around since the first generation ofPokemongames, joining the roster as a grass/poison-type. While Bellsprout doesn’t typically make the list of excellent or powerful Pokemon, that doesn’t necessarily mean much with Pokemon. Fans will often be charmed by a Pokemon’s design regardless of its battle utility, and Redditor SilvanuZ chose to bring to life with the help of their 3D printer.

The effort that went into this print shouldn’t be overlooked. 3D printing isn’t the easiest thing to do reliably just yet, as a print can go wrong for a number of reasons. In addition, SilvanuZ not only3D printed thePokemoncreation, but also painted the final product. The result looks like it could be an official piece ofPokemonmerchandise, with everything from the charming flowerpot to the colors chosen to depict the Pokemon looking picture-perfect.

Fans were quick to express their feelings about the print, with many being impressed and others hoping to either print their own or buy one for themselves. SilvanuZ kindly shared the 3D file so that those who have their own printers can give it a try, but they also note that they offer printed and painted copies of their work.

3D printed Pokemon have been gaining popularity recently. Pokemon like Rayquaza and Steelix have gotten 3D prints, while a Lickitung 3D print one fan made has a retractable tongue, and another fan used a 3D printer to create a base for a holographic Spiritomb recreation. While 3D printing is still a fairly new technology for hobbyists, using a 3D printer to createPokemonfanart isn’t the most unusual medium fans have used. For example, one recent piece ofPikachu fanart used lasers and mirrorsto create its image.

With 3D printers becoming more affordable and more common as a result, and with free 3D modeling software like Blender now widely accessible, prints like these aren’t going anywhere. It’ll be interesting to see how farPokemonfans can go with custom 3D printed art of their favorites.
