Ever since they first were produced,Pokemoncards have captured the imagination of many who saw them with their colorful and eye-catching artwork. Indeed, it’s not particularly uncommon to find someone in thePokemoncommunity who collects the cards simply for their aesthetic value, like one collects art pieces, and doesn’t even play the game at all.

Pokemonis no stranger to incredible fan creations, and that appreciation inevitably birthed the concept of creating custom-made cards, even for things that weren’t part of thePokemonworld. It seems one lucky Reddit user acquired a custom-made card for something very personal in their life.

Reddit user Frosttance took to the site to share a birthday present they received from a friend of theirs, an artist who goes by the screen name “roseyskypeach,” who created a customPokemoncard of their cat, and its as charming as one would imagine. That’s rather appropriate, given the adorable four-legged inspiration behind it. AsthePokemonproperty continues to grow and involve the community, it’s hardly surprising people’s creativity would continue in turn.

Despite being a custom card never meant to be played, it is incredibly true to the genuine article. The art style definitely evokes some of the cuter designs somePokemoncards have had, which does the cat Pepperoni (long for Pepper) some adorable justice. Lounging in grass and looking up at the cardholder really paints a lackadaisical yet mischievous personality to them, giving them more dimension than a piece of paper might ordinarily allow.

The artist even captured the feline friend’s more distinct features, like the green eyes or the uneven black stripes across their head. Tie it together with a smile like that, and they could stand next tosome memorablePokemon.

As far as raw statistics go, Pepperoni isn’t half-bad on the battlefield. With a decent HP pool and a low retreat cost, they would be agood fit for mostPokemonteams. Despite being classified as a normal type, there’s nothing ‘normal’ about the wallop that Pepper Punch move has. Whether there’s a story behind that high amount of damage, regrettably neither the artist nor the Reddit user elaborated, so it might just be an inside joke.

Whatever the case, there’s no denying that a lot of heart went into this card’s creation. Whether the gift receiver wants to commemorate it in something like a picture frame or use in friendly games as a joke, it’s certainly a meow-velous gift.
