A talentedPokemonfan has recently created a Paradox form for Zapdos, the legendary Electric-type creature from the first generation. This artist was inspired by the new Paradox forms available inPokemon Scarlet and Violetand was able to craft a memorable form for the popular Pokemon, making it look even cooler than usual.
Zapdos is among the oldest legendary Pokemon of the franchise. The famous lightning bird first appeared inPokemon Red and Blue, and it was a popular legendary creature that has remained a fan-favorite over the years. For instance, it’s not hard tofind Zapdos-based artonline, as its sleek design makes it for a very memorable, stylish Pokemon to feature on drawings, murals, or merchandise.

Now, the Pokemon fan HertzBurst has created Iron Storm, a Paradox form for Zapdos that has both Electric and Fire types. Zapdos does not currently havean official Paradox form, so that’s a pretty exciting idea. The creator’s idea for the legendary bird was to create a Pokemon that could control the weather, so adding Fire to its type was probably a way to represent its power over thunder and the sun. This new version of Zapdos remains fairly similar to its iconic figure, but with a more metallic, menacing look. Not only it has clearly steel-made parts, but the whole look is shinier, and it seems as if it’s made of metal, not feathers.
In the comments of the Reddit thread, otherPokemonplayers complimented HertzBurst for their good work on the legendary Pokemon. According to Victinitotodilepro, for example, the 3D model created by the artist looked very real, and could easily be mistaken for an official design. Others, however, commented that this version could be an Electric/Steel type, as it really looked metallic, and not so much like a Fire Pokemon. HertzBurst is fairly known in thePokemononline community for his work, includingParadox forms of Pokemon like Poliwrath, Voltorb, Magikarp, and others.
Paradox forms for legendary Pokemon are becoming popular these days. Recently, anotherPokemonfan designeda Paradox form for Entei. In this case, however, instead of following a more traditional approach to changing the creature, the creator completely overhauled the legendary Pokemon. While the normal Entei was red and brown, the new form was mostly grey and darker than the original, looking like an ancient statue from Japan, which certainly added some charm to the design.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violetare available now for Nintendo Switch.
